GoldFather28 - built for prop firm challenges on gold.
GoldFather28 is a fully automated Expert Advisor for XAUUSD (M5) designed around the rules of prop firm challenges and funded accounts: a strict daily loss limit, a maximum total loss limit and steady, controlled growth. It trades one clear idea - the breakout of the quiet Asian-session range in the direction of the long-term trend. No grid, no martingale, no hedging, no averaging down. Every trade has a fixed Stop Loss and Take Profit from the first second.
Why it fits prop firms
- Daily equity guard (default 4%): if equity falls 4% below the start of the day, the EA closes all trades and stops until the next day - before the typical 5% daily limit is touched.
- Total equity guard (default 9%): if equity falls 9% below the starting balance, the EA closes everything and stops - before the typical 10% maximum loss limit.
- Low risk per trade (default 1% of the starting balance) with automatic lot size.
- Maximum 2 trades per day. Risk is cut in half after 3 losses in a row.
- News filter: no new trades around high-impact USD news (configurable minutes before/after).
- Stop Loss always set - no floating, unprotected positions.
How it trades
- Watches the Asian session (03:00-06:00 UTC by default), when gold builds a tight range.
- Enters only when an M5 candle closes beyond the recent 50-bar high or low.
- Trend filter: buys only above the EMA 200, sells only below it.
- Risk:Reward 1:4. At +2R the Stop Loss moves to break-even, so a winning trade cannot turn into a loss.
Backtest in Prop Firm mode (every tick based on real ticks, XAUUSD M5, 100,000 USD account, 1% risk)
- Jan 2026 - Oct 2026: net profit +76.3%, profit factor 2.50, 115 trades, deepest drop below the starting balance 2.3%, maximum equity drawdown 5.6%.
- Jan 2025 - Oct 2026: net profit +130%, profit factor 2.25, 221 trades, deepest drop below the starting balance 4.3%.
- Win rate is about 37% - each winner is up to 4x a loser. Losing streaks happen (longest: 11 trades), so use the recommended risk.
Recommended prop firm settings
- Account mode: Prop Firm.
- Reference balance: your challenge size (for example 100000), so all limits are measured from the starting balance even after a restart.
- Risk per trade: 0.5% - 1%. Use 0.5% for two-step challenges with tight limits.
- Daily equity stop: 1% below your firm's daily limit (for example 4% for a 5% rule). Total equity stop: 1% below the firm's maximum loss (for example 9% for a 10% rule).
- Symbol XAUUSD, chart M5, hedging account. Run on a VPS 24/5.
- Always check your firm's own rules (news trading, minimum trading days, weekend holding) and adjust the inputs.
Personal accounts: switch Account mode to Personal and use 1% - 1.5% risk from 1,000 USD.
