1. Overview
Gold Tiger Continuation Combo is a fully automatic Expert Advisor (EA) for GOLD (XAUUSD) on MetaTrader 5. It runs eight independent signal slots built from four technical engines — VWAP Deviation, Rate of Change (ROC), Relative Vigor Index (RVI) and Bollinger Z-score — across timeframes from H1 to D1, all from a single chart.
Each slot trades in the direction of an extreme price stretch (momentum continuation), has its own Magic number, its own risk % and its own drawdown guard. Every trade carries an ATR-based stop loss, a take profit and a time stop.
2. Key features
· 8 signals, 4 engines — diversification across engines and timeframes.
· Multi-timeframe — each slot reads its own timeframe; the EA can be attached to any chart of GOLD.
· Risk control on every trade — ATR stop loss, take profit, time stop; risk 0.3–0.5% of balance per slot.
· Drawdown guard per slot — a slot pauses for 10 days when its own drawdown reaches its limit (8–10%).
· Global cap of 4 open positions and a spread filter (80 points) with an entry retry window of up to 3 hours (e.g. around daily rollover).
· No martingale, no grid, no averaging down.
· Single file — one .ex5, no .set file, no external data, no WebRequest.
4. Requirements and installation
· MetaTrader 5, symbol GOLD / XAUUSD, any chart timeframe.
· Hedging account recommended (netting accounts trade one position at a time).
· Low-spread broker; leverage 1:500 used in tests.
· VPS or PC online 24/5.
Installation: (1) MT5 → File → Open Data Folder → MQL5\Experts. (2) Copy the .ex5 file there and restart MT5 or refresh Navigator. (3) Open a GOLD chart and drag the EA onto it. (4) Tick "Allow Algo Trading" and enable the Algo Trading button. (5) Check the panel lists the 8 slots and shows "Running".
5. Important limitations — please read
· In-sample results. Signal parameters were selected using gold data from 2013 onward, so the backtest is in-sample. No out-of-sample or forward test has been completed yet.
· Modest return by design. About 40% over 10.7 years at $10,000, with low drawdown. It is not a high-return system.
· Daily (D1) slots trade rarely (8 trades in 10.7 years).
· May not suit strongly mean-reverting, choppy markets, brokers with very high spread or commission, or accounts below about $1,000.
· Gold only. The EA is tuned and tested for GOLD and should not be used on other symbols.
6. FAQ
Does it need settings? No — the defaults are the tested configuration.
Which timeframe do I attach it to? Any; each slot reads its own timeframe. One chart is enough — do not attach it twice to the same account and symbol.
Can I change the risk? Yes, per slot in the inputs. Higher risk increases both profit and drawdown.
