Dioscuri

Dioscuri is an Expert Advisor (EA) that runs two independent strategies on XAUUSD (Gold). Each one has its own magic number and its own position limit.

1. Fair Value Gap (FVG) strategy (limit orders)

• Detects fair value gaps on M15 and scores each one on gap size, displacement, the direction of the H1 exponential moving average (EMA), freshness and premium/discount location.
• Places a limit order at the edge of a qualifying gap in the H1 trend direction. The stop loss (SL) is placed beyond the gap and the take profit (TP) is 3 times the SL distance.
• Sells are allowed only while the previous daily close is below the daily EMA 50.
• Trades only between 13:00 and 21:00 GMT. Unfilled orders are cancelled after 10 bars, before major news and on Friday evening.

2. Smart Money Concepts (SMC) strategy (market orders)

• Determines the trend from D1 swing structure and the premium/discount zone from H4.
• Enters at market on M15 after a liquidity sweep, a consolidation breakout or an internal structure shift in the trend direction.
• The SL is placed beyond the recent swing (max 1.5% of price by default) and the minimum reward-to-risk is 2. Losing positions are closed after 48 hours.

Common features

• Every trade is sent with a stop loss and a take profit. No grid, no martingale, no averaging down.
• New entries pause 30 minutes before and after US FOMC rate decisions, Consumer Price Index (CPI) releases and Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP) releases.
• Lot size: fixed lot or percentage risk per trade.
• Optional daily loss limit.
• Before each order the EA checks free margin, volume limits, stop levels and freeze levels, and it skips the trade if the account cannot support it.

Recommended

• Symbol and timeframe: XAUUSD M5. Attach the EA to one XAUUSD M5 chart. The EA reads M15, H1, H4 and D1 internally.
• Account: hedging. The two strategies may hold positions at the same time.
• Minimum deposit: 1,000 USD with the default 0.01 lot. For percentage risk, 10,000 USD or more is recommended.
• Broker: low spread on Gold. Set "Broker GMT offset" and "Broker daylight saving rule" to match your broker's server time.

Backtest (MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester, Every tick based on real ticks, XAUUSD)

• Period: 2024.01.01 - 2026.09.29. Initial deposit 1,000,000 JPY, leverage 1:1000.
• Settings: risk 0.5% per trade for each strategy (fixed lot set to 0), SMC maximum SL 3% of price. All other inputs at default.
• 746 trades, profit factor 1.55, win rate 38.7%, maximum balance drawdown 5%, maximum equity drawdown 7%.
• The screenshots show the Strategy Tester report and balance curve of this test.
