Gate Keeper Gold is a trend-following Expert Advisor for XAUUSD (Gold), built for traders who value discipline, transparency, and fixed risk over promises.
The EA does not use grid, martingale, averaging, or hedging. Every trade is managed independently, protected by a stop-loss from the moment of entry, and followed by an ATR-based trailing stop.
The strategy is built on a Donchian channel breakout, confirmed by an EMA trend filter, ADX strength, and +DI / −DI direction. This is a selective approach: the EA does not trade constantly — it waits for the right conditions and enters only when all filters align.
Strategy Logic
Entry (long by default)
-
Breakout of the Donchian channel (20 bars, shifted by 1).
-
EMA(20) > EMA(50) and price > EMA(200).
-
ADX(14) ≥ 20.
-
+DI > −DI.
-
Price is not over-extended from EMA(200) (measured in ATR).
Position Management
-
Stop-loss: 2 × ATR from entry price.
-
Trailing: 4 × ATR from the highest close since entry (updated once per bar).
-
EMA exit: close below EMA(20) on reversal.
-
Optional break-even: SL moves to entry at +1 × ATR.
Optional Features (off by default)
-
Anti-pyramiding (risk reduction after a series of losses).
-
Two-stage trailing.
-
ATR-percentile volatility filter.
-
Max bars in loss.
-
EMA-based trailing.
-
Short-side (for experiments, not validated).
Risk Management
-
Fixed risk per trade — 1% of equity by default.
-
Lot size is calculated from the stop distance (2 × ATR) and risk.
-
Guard (optional) — trading halt at 20% drawdown, weekly re-arm.
-
Daily loss limit (optional) — halt for the day at −5%.
-
Free margin check — before every entry.
-
Max lot cap — hard volume limit.
-
Stops-level aware — SL/TP respect the broker's minimum distance.
-
Market-mode aware — no modify or close attempts when the market is closed.
Two Operating Modes

Disclaimer
Trading gold and CFDs involves significant risk and may not be suitable for every investor. Past results do not guarantee future results, and losses are possible. Results may vary between brokers and accounts due to differences in execution, spreads, slippage, liquidity, and technical infrastructure.
The EA uses predefined risk-control mechanisms, but no system can fully eliminate trading risk or guarantee identical results. Testing on a demo account is strongly recommended before using real funds.
The EA is selective by nature: trading activity depends on market conditions, and in some periods there may be few trades or none at all.
