BandRider EA

BandRider EA is an automated Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 based on Bollinger Bands and an ATR volatility filter. The EA is designed to identify potential price reversal opportunities while incorporating configurable position management and risk control features.

Overview

The Expert Advisor monitors price interaction with the Bollinger Bands and evaluates market volatility using the Average True Range (ATR) indicator. Trading decisions are executed automatically according to the configured parameters.

Entry Logic

A BUY signal is generated when price closes below the lower Bollinger Band and subsequently closes back inside the band while the ATR filter confirms sufficient market activity.

A SELL signal is generated when price closes above the upper Bollinger Band and subsequently closes back inside the band while the ATR filter confirms sufficient market activity.

Both Bollinger Band conditions and ATR requirements must be satisfied before a position can be opened.

ATR Volatility Filter

The ATR filter is used to avoid opening positions during periods of low market activity. New positions are allowed only when the ATR value exceeds the user-defined minimum threshold.

Position Management

The EA includes a configurable averaging mechanism that may add positions when market conditions meet the specified criteria.

  • Distance control between averaging levels

  • Automatic recalculation of the average entry price

  • Automatic take profit adjustment for managed positions

Risk Management

BandRider EA provides several risk management options:

  • Individual Take Profit

  • Individual Stop Loss

  • Maximum position limit

  • Global floating loss protection based on a user-defined USD value

When the total floating loss reaches the configured threshold, all managed positions are closed automatically.
