Kestril Gold Breakout

Gold, and nothing else.
I build Expert Advisors for XAUUSD. Not a multi-symbol package, not a universal engine with a dropdown for thirty instruments — one market, studied properly.
Three rules I do not break: - Version: 1.20
- Updated: 7 September 2026
- Activations: 10
Kestril trades XAUUSD only. It waits for one specific setup and ignores everything else.
Three rules the expert advisor never breaks. A hard stop loss is sent to the broker with every order, so what you see in the terminal is your real risk. There is no grid, no martingale and no averaging into a losing position. Nothing is carried over the weekend.
Only one position per direction is open at a time. When a trade closes, that side observes a cooldown before it can trade again, so Kestril never chains entries after a loss. Once a trade moves far enough into profit, the stop locks beyond the entry price and then follows the market at a generous distance.
Kestril stands aside rather than forcing a trade. It does not act during session breaks, at weekends, on major holidays, when the spread widens abnormally, or inside a high impact news window when that filter is enabled. Quiet periods are part of how it works.
Five risk profiles are built in and selected from a dropdown, from Extra safe to Extreme, alongside a custom setting and a hard lot ceiling that no profile can exceed. I run Extra safe and that is what I recommend. The upper profiles exist for traders who ask for them and they are aggressive by design.
Lot sizing, stop distances and session times adapt themselves to your broker. Contract size, quote format, number of digits, account currency and server timezone are all detected. Kestril also handles brokers that publish a dynamic stop level, and it learns your server's real trading hours instead of trusting the published table. There is nothing to recalibrate.
Test results are shown in the screenshots, over two separate periods rather than one convenient stretch. The weaker period is included on purpose.
Requirements: XAUUSD, a hedging account, low spread and low slippage, a broker that accepts pending orders close to price, leverage of 1:100 or more, and a VPS so the advisor is running when its setup appears.
Past performance in a backtest does not predict future results.
Please message me before leaving a review if anything does not behave as described. Send your broker name, the symbol name and a screenshot of your settings.
