Robust Hybrid - Martingale Hedging Grid for M1 Scalping
Robust Hybrid is an automated trading system built around a martingale-style hedging grid designed for short-timeframe scalping, with manual basket exit rules and a dedicated margin safety layer. Positions on both sides of the market are managed as one system, with lot progression, exposure caps, and account-level protection configured independently.
Entry mode
Three entry modes are available: Both Directions (two-way hedging, buy and sell managed together), Buy Only, or Sell Only. In two-way mode, an optional re-hedge lot matching filter keeps the opposite side's layer depth aligned instead of letting one side drift far ahead of the other.
Grid and lot management
Grid step distance and a lot exponent control how layers are added and how lot size progresses, up to a configurable maximum of 500 layers. A maximum lot per position acts as a hard ceiling, with the option to stop adding new layers entirely once that cap is reached rather than continuing at the capped size. Auto-compounding can scale the starting lot with account balance growth relative to a configured base balance.
Basket exit rules
Basket take-profit is set manually in account currency, with an optional trailing basket that follows price once triggered, using a configurable trailing deviation. A basket break-even mechanism has its own target and lock level, and an optional basket stop-loss is available for accounts that want a hard maximum loss per basket in addition to the drawdown-based protections below.
Risk and protection controls
- Margin Safety Filter: before adding a new layer, free margin is checked against a configurable buffer percentage, so the EA does not keep attempting trades an account cannot afford.
- Maximum spread filter to avoid entries during abnormal market conditions.
- Maximum drawdown percentage, with the option to stop adding new layers once reached while leaving existing positions to be managed by the basket rules.
- A separate Hard Close percentage that liquidates all positions unconditionally once reached, independent of the basket TP/SL logic.
- Manage Manual Trade option to bring positions opened outside the EA into its basket management instead of ignoring them.
Session and target control
An Active Hours filter restricts new entries to a configured local time window, with separate broker GMT offset and target UTC offset inputs so the dashboard clock and trading hours line up correctly regardless of broker server time. An optional Daily Profit Target in account currency can be used to pause new trading once reached for the day.
Dashboard
An on-chart, minimizable panel displays account state, basket status, drawdown, active hours countdown, and GMT/local time, with color customization for the panel background, header, dividers, and section labels.
Important notes before use
Robust Hybrid uses martingale and hedging grid techniques intended for short-timeframe scalping. This means it can open multiple positions on the same symbol as price moves against the initial entry, with lot size increasing by layer, and floating drawdown can grow before a basket target is reached; this is a structural characteristic of martingale grid systems, not a defect. Test on a demo account first, and choose the grid step, lot exponent, maximum layers, and drawdown/hard-close limits according to your account balance and broker leverage before trading live.
Recommended setup
- Hedging-capable account for the Both Directions entry mode; Buy Only or Sell Only can be used on a netting account.
- Stable VPS with low latency to the broker server, given the M1 scalping design and the number of layers the grid can manage.
- Start with a conservative lot exponent and a low maximum layer count until behavior on your account and instrument is well understood.
