A buyer sent us a competitor's product description with a six-item block headed "minimum requirements and recommendations" and asked whether ours had the same. The honest answer was that we did not know, so we checked. This is what we found across all 31 of our descriptions, the MT4 and MT5 variants of our EAs and tools, and what we are doing about it.

What the 31 descriptions contained
0 of 31 had a requirements section. The information mostly existed, but scattered through the text:
Item | Descriptions that mention it
VPS | 17 of 31
Minimum leverage | 19 of 31
Minimum deposit | 9 of 31
Hedging account required | 2 of 31
Quote digits | 0 of 31
The backtest deposit was stated almost everywhere, $10,000 in most, but the backtest leverage in only 2. One product's English description differed from its other ten languages: the English mentioned hedging but not leverage, and the other languages the reverse. Nobody had noticed, including us.

What the code says
Then we checked the code of all 19 MT5 EAs. Every one of them prints a warning at start-up on a netting account and then keeps running instead of stopping. So the hedging requirement, which only 2 descriptions mentioned, is real, and the EA will not protect you from it. On quote digits: the gold EAs mostly size stops and spread filters in ATR or dollars, so they do not depend on the number of digits. But we have never backtested on a 3-digit gold feed, so we do not claim 3-digit support either way.

What we changed
We wrote a REQUIREMENTS block in 11 languages and are inserting it right after the START HERE section of every description. It states: VPS (24/5, or 24/7 for crypto pairs); hedging account; minimum leverage; minimum and recommended deposit; account type. Rollout is in progress as this is published, so for a while some descriptions will have it and some will not.

Lesson for buyers
A description that does not state account mode, leverage and deposit is not lying. It is incomplete. And the defaults you assume will be wrong on some broker: netting is the default on some, 1:30 is the maximum on others, and 3-digit gold quotes exist. Ours were incomplete for years and nobody asked until one buyer did.

Five questions for any seller whose description lacks the block
1. Hedging or netting account, and what does the EA do on the wrong one: stop, warn, or trade anyway?
2. Minimum leverage, and what leverage were the published backtests run at?
3. Minimum deposit for the default set, and what deposit did the backtests start with?
4. Does it need a VPS, and is 24/5 enough or does it need 24/7?
5. Which quote digits was it tested on, and has it been tested on any other?
If the seller answers all five in specifics, the missing block is an omission. If they cannot, that tells you something too. We could not have answered question 5 for our own products until this week.
