Bitcoin Bully is a fully automated Expert Advisor built for BTCUSD. It trades breakouts of support and resistance using a three-tier ladder of pending stop orders, and every trade has a stop loss from the moment it opens. It adapts to Bitcoin's changing volatility automatically, so it needs no manual adjustment as price and market conditions change.
How it trades
The EA finds support and resistance levels at three different distances from price, each handled by its own tier. It places resting buy stop and sell stop orders just beyond those levels, so it enters only when price actually breaks through. Each tier manages its own trade with its own breakeven and trailing stop, which aims to lock in profit quickly on fast breakouts and cut losses on false ones.
All distances (entry offset, stop loss, breakeven, trail) scale with market volatility. A setting that works at one BTC price level keeps working at another.
Built-in protection
- Stop loss on every trade. No martingale, no grid, no averaging down.
- Gap and slippage protection. If an order fills far beyond its planned price, for example after a weekend gap or a sudden spike, the EA resets the stop to the planned risk or closes the trade.
- Minimum stop distance. Stops can't shrink too far in quiet markets, which prevents oversized positions just before volatility returns.
- Position size spike cap. No single order can be much larger than the EA's recent average.
- Margin guard. Orders that would use too much free margin are refused.
- Spread filter. New orders are held back when the spread is too wide relative to volatility.
- Optional daily loss limit. Trading stops for the day once equity drops by your chosen percentage.
News filter for prop firms
The EA reads the MetaTrader economic calendar and blocks new entries for a set number of minutes before and after news events.
- Choose high impact only, medium and high, or all events.
- Choose which currencies to filter (USD by default).
- Optionally cancel pending orders during the news window.
- Optionally close open positions before the news window starts.
An on-chart panel shows the next upcoming event and a countdown, and turns red while entries are blocked.
Main settings
- Risk management: risk % per tier, sizing from balance or equity, or fixed lots.
- Limits: maximum lots per tier, margin limit, daily loss limit, maximum spread and slippage.
- Server hours: optional trading-hours window, a skip period after the daily rollover, and an optional weekend skip.
- News filter: as described above.
Requirements
- Symbol and timeframe: BTCUSD on [M30].
- Account type: a hedging account is required. On a netting account the tiers would merge into one position.
- Recommended minimum deposit: $300. Margin requirements for BTCUSD differ widely between brokers.
- Broker: a low-spread BTCUSD feed; ECN/raw-spread accounts are preferred.
- VPS: recommended for uninterrupted operation.
Important notes
- The news filter uses the MetaTrader economic calendar, which is not available in the Strategy Tester. It only works on live and demo accounts, so backtests run without it.
- Please test on a demo account before trading live.
