Adaptive Risk-Controlled Grid Expert Advisor
KP Grid Sentinel MT4 is an automated grid trading system for MetaTrader 4 designed with a strong focus on capital protection, exposure control and adaptive risk management.
Unlike traditional grid systems, KP Grid Sentinel integrates an internal stress monitoring engine that continuously evaluates the current condition of the trading system and dynamically regulates how much exposure is allowed in the market.
The Expert Advisor automatically adapts its behaviour according to current account conditions, floating drawdown, margin usage and the structure of active grid orders.

Stress monitoring engine
KP Grid Sentinel calculates an internal system condition index based on:
• Floating drawdown from equity peak
• Margin usage
• Number of active grid orders
• Current grid depth
• Directional BUY/SELL exposure imbalance
This internal index continuously determines how aggressively the Expert Advisor is allowed to operate.
When system stress increases, the EA automatically:
• Reduces position size
• Limits grid expansion
• Restricts new entries
• Reduces maximum allowed grid depth
• Controls directional exposure
• Prioritizes capital preservation
The objective is to progressively reduce risk before account conditions reach critical levels, rather than relying exclusively on a final emergency stop.
Lockdown behaviour
When account conditions reach unsafe levels, KP Grid Sentinel automatically enters a protective Lockdown mode.
During Lockdown:
• New positions are temporarily blocked
• Grid expansion is stopped or severely restricted
• Lot sizes are reduced to their minimum allowed level
• Existing positions continue to be managed
• Normal trading is restored only when system conditions recover
This mechanism is designed to prevent the grid from continuing to accumulate exposure during adverse market conditions.

BaseLot
Initial lot size used to build the grid structure.
GridStep
Distance between grid levels, expressed in points.
MaxGridOrders
Maximum number of grid orders allowed by the base strategy.
Dynamic Risk Compression (DRC)
DRC_Enabled
Enables Dynamic Risk Compression.
When enabled, the EA progressively reduces the lot size of new orders as floating drawdown increases.
DRC_MinLotFactor
Minimum compression factor that can be applied to the base lot size.
For example, a value of 0.50 prevents the dynamic system from reducing the calculated lot below 50% of its normal size, subject to broker minimum lot restrictions.
DRC_DD_Warning
Floating drawdown level at which lot compression begins to become significant.
DRC_DD_Critical
Floating drawdown level considered critical by the Dynamic Risk Compression system.
As drawdown approaches this level, the EA progressively moves toward the configured minimum lot factor.
Stress monitoring & exposure control
Governor_Enabled
Enables the internal exposure and stress control engine.
The Governor continuously evaluates account and grid conditions and determines the maximum risk currently allowed.
Governor_MaxTotalLots
Maximum combined lot exposure that can remain open across BUY and SELL orders managed by the EA.
Governor_MaxLotsPerDirection
Maximum lot exposure allowed independently for the BUY or SELL side.
This prevents excessive concentration in a single market direction.
Governor_MaxGridDepth
Maximum grid depth permitted by the Governor.
This acts as an additional protection layer over the normal grid configuration.
Governor_ESI_Warning
Stress index level at which the Governor begins applying stronger defensive measures.
Governor_ESI_Critical
Stress index level considered critical.
At this level, exposure restrictions, lot compression and grid depth limitations become significantly stronger.
Governor_ESI_Lockdown
Stress index level that activates Lockdown mode.
When this threshold is reached, new market exposure is temporarily blocked while existing positions continue to be managed.
Governor_MinLotModifier
Minimum lot-size modifier the Governor is allowed to apply during high-stress conditions.
Protection behaviour
Governor_DynamicDepth
Enables automatic reduction of the maximum permitted grid depth according to the current stress level.
As stress increases, fewer additional grid levels are allowed.
Governor_MaxImbalanceRatio
Maximum permitted imbalance between BUY and SELL exposure.
The Governor uses this value to prevent the grid from becoming excessively concentrated in one direction.
Governor_UpdateIntervalMs
Interval, in milliseconds, between Governor stress calculations.
Lower values make the system react more frequently, while higher values reduce recalculation frequency.
MT4 vs MT5
The risk-control philosophy is the same in both versions: DRC controls position sizing while the Governor controls aggregate exposure, grid depth, directional imbalance and Lockdown behaviour.
The MT4 version is implemented around MetaTrader 4's order-management architecture, while the MT5 version uses MetaTrader 5's position/deal model and is intended for hedging-mode accounts when simultaneous BUY and SELL exposure is required.
