Why Price Keeps Changing: What It Means for an EA Developer
The question "Why does price keep changing?" is a general one for a trader, but for an EA developer it is purely technical. Price changes on every tick, and that shifts the entry moment, the stop levels and the volume calculation.
A common mistake is to compute the parameters once, using the signal price, and send the order later. By then the price is already different — and on a volatile market, noticeably different. That is why the volume and the levels are better recalculated right before sending the request, not at the moment the decision is made.
A separate nuance is a repeated entry on the same signal. If you do not re-read the fresh Ask and Bid, the second position opens at a different price and with a different actual risk. A useful habit is to take the current quotes at the very last moment and allow for possible slippage.

Частая ошибка — считать параметры один раз по цене сигнала, а ордер отправлять позже. За это время цена уже другая, а на волатильном рынке — заметно другая. Поэтому объём и уровни разумнее пересчитывать прямо перед отправкой запроса, а не в момент принятия решения.
Отдельный нюанс — повторный вход по тому же сигналу. Если не перечитать свежие Ask и Bid, вторая позиция откроется по иной цене и с иным фактическим риском. Полезная привычка — брать актуальные котировки в самый последний момент и закладывать возможное проскальзывание.

A robot with a fixed stop makes the same mistake both in a narrow flat and in an overheated market. The reason is rigid parameters where adaptation to volatility is needed.
The easiest way is to tie risk to the candle range. The ATR indicator is exactly an averaged range, and it is convenient to build a "breathing" stop on its basis:
