Why This Tool Matters

Pitchfork analysis depends heavily on anchor accuracy. A small manual placement error can change the pitchfork angle, median line, and reaction zones.

Drag Pitchfork removes the slow manual placement process and helps create pitchforks based on a correct swing sequence. This makes the tool useful for traders who use pitchforks regularly and want a faster, cleaner workflow.

1. Add the indicator to the chart and click "Place PF".

2. Drag the first vertical line just to the left of the swing that defines the first anchor, P0.

3. Drag the second vertical line close to the intended third anchor, P2.

4. The tool automatically calculates P1 according to the selected pitchfork rules and draws the complete pitchfork structure.

5. Use the toggle button to compare the pitchfork variations. 

Timeframe Logic:

Pitchfork variations can only be changed on the timeframe where the pitchfork was originally created.

On other timeframes, the drag lines and anchor labels are hidden to prevent accidental movement and keep the chart clean.

To recreate the pitchfork on a different timeframe, first clear the current pitchfork, then place it again on the new timeframe.

Correct Pitchfork Structure Rules

Drag Pitchfork follows the original Andrews anchor logic.

A downtrend structure uses:

1. High
2. Low
3. Lower high

An uptrend structure uses:

1. Low
2. High
3. Higher low

This helps keep the pitchfork construction clean and consistent with classic pitchfork rules.

Standard Pitchfork
The classic Andrews Pitchfork based on the selected swing sequence.

Schiff Pitchfork
Moves P0 halfway toward P1 in price, creating a flatter structure.

Modified Schiff Pitchfork
Moves P0 halfway toward P1 in both price and time, creating a middle ground between Standard and Schiff.
