GBPJPY Ranger's tier table hides one big step: Aggressive runs an 18.5% drawdown, Ultra a 57% one. This guide covers the two-minute setup and that one decision properly.

Setup
Attach to a GBPJPY H4 chart (suffixed symbol if applicable). Defaults are the published configuration: confirmed-close Donchian breakouts (closed bars only, filtering wick fakeouts), a hard ATR stop on every trade, trailing exit. No grid, no martingale.
The tier decision — the jump is real
Real ticks, GBPJPY H4 2017-2026, $10,000: Defensive +22% / eqDD 4.5%; Standard +50% / eqDD 9.5%; Aggressive +117% / eqDD 18.5% (recommended); Ultra +875% / relative eqDD 57% (published default). The same signal drives every tier, but Ultra roughly quadruples the drawdown to buy its extra return. Our recommendation is Aggressive for everyday accounts; treat Ultra as a deliberate opt-in to deep-drawdown territory, sized with money you can genuinely afford to swing 57%.
What normal looks like
A confirmed-close trend follower on a volatile cross: expect losing streaks of small stops during ranges and the year made by a few extended GBPJPY trends. Quiet weeks are normal; the news filter blocks entries around major events.
