GBP/USD Retreats from Highs, Back Below 1.4600
GBP/USD is moving away from recent highs as the dollar
recovers some ground across the board and also weighed by a Brexit poll
showing most Britons will vote to leave the European Union.
GBP/USD
reached a 2 ½-month peak of 1.4638 at the beginning of the New York
session amid broad USD weakness on the back of disappointing durable
goods orders data. At time of writing, the pair is trading at 1.4596,
still 0.80% above its opening price.
GBP/USD technical levels
In
terms of technical levels, next resistances are seen at 1.4667 (Feb 4
high) and 1.4700 (psychological level). On the other hand, supports
could be faced at 1.4477 (Apr 26 low), 1.4421 (100-day SMA) and 1.4402
(Apr 25 low).
