AUD/USD finds support ahead of 0.7700

 AUD/USD was on the back foot and fell to an 8-day low during the European session as investors await Australian employment figures to be released on Thursday.

AUD/USD came under pressure after failing to consolidate above 0.7800 and fell to a low of 0.7711 before finding support. The pair has managed to trim intraday losses, but the upside has remained capped by the 0.7750 zone. At time of writing, the Aussie is trading at 0.7740, still down 0.36% on the day .

The calendar is pretty much empty for the American session, keeping markets’ driven mainly by risk sentiment.

AUD/USD technical levels

As for technical levels, if AUD/USD breaks below 0.7711 (daily low), next supports are seen at 0.7700 (psychological level) and 0.7685 (Feb 3 intraday support). On the flip side, resistances could be found at 0.7795/0.7800 (100-hour SMA/psychological level), 0.7840 (Feb 10 high) and 0.7875 (Feb 5 high).
