QuantumBit Pro 1.20 — Bitcoin adaptive grid for MT5

QuantumBit Pro trades BTCUSD using an H4 trend filter, ATR-based grid spacing and basket exits. Version 1.20 adds a neutral zone around the trend EMA, reduces unnecessary direction changes and strengthens order handling.

What is new in 1.20

• Trend neutral zone: a configurable 0.25 ATR buffer around the H4 EMA. Set InpTrendBufferATR to 0 to disable it.
• Default base lot: 0.01. The previous executable default was 0.04. Check all inputs after updating or loading an older SET file.
• More reliable exits: broker return codes are checked; refused or partial closures remain pending and are retried. Monetary protection exits can operate even when indicator data is unavailable. The EA does not reopen on the same tick as an exit.
• Exposure checks: the total lot cap includes both directions; volume is rounded down to the broker step. If the requested lot is below the broker minimum, the order is skipped.
• Optional controls: stress budgets include current basket P/L and broker-aware estimates in account currency. ATR spread checks also cover first entries. Confirmed-bar signals and entry/post-drawdown cooldowns are available, off by default.
• Restart handling: protection locks and pending exits persist across normal restarts in the same terminal. One basket scan per tick reduces repeated position processing.

How it works

An EMA(275) on H4 sets the directional bias. H1 ATR(14) determines grid spacing and the basket target. With the default multiplier of 1.0, successive entries use a flat base lot. The EA manages basket take-profit, trend-reversal exits and a floating-loss threshold. Grid trading still accumulates exposure during adverse moves.

Backtests: comparable results, stated conditions

Both versions were re-tested on the same current ICMarketsEU-Demo BTCUSD data, H1, starting with USD 5,000, leverage 1:100, base lot 0.01, without compounding. Percentages are net profit divided by initial deposit. Drawdown below is maximum relative equity drawdown.

• 21 June 2020–21 June 2026: 1 minute OHLC model, 96% history quality. v1.20: +201.66% (USD 10,082.82), profit factor 1.44, relative equity drawdown 13.48%, 5,143 trades. Re-tested v1.10: +157.70%, PF 1.32, drawdown 15.73%, 5,934 trades. This is about 13% fewer trades. This six-year result includes the development period.
• Separate 21 June 2024–21 June 2026 check: 1 minute OHLC, 100% history quality, fresh USD 5,000 account. v1.20: +91.28%, PF 1.38, drawdown 24.04%. v1.10: +51.02%, PF 1.19, drawdown 27.32%. The new buffer was selected using 2020–2024 first; this later window was then checked separately.
• Recent 98 days, 21 June–27 September 2026: every tick based on real ticks, 100% real tick quality, 69,040,562 ticks and 100 ms simulated execution delay. v1.20: −3.43% (−USD 171.53), PF 0.83, drawdown 14.10%, 216 trades. v1.10: −3.57%, PF 0.83, drawdown 14.23%, 289 trades. This recent period remains loss-making.

The improvement is not universal: the July 2026 real-tick test was slightly worse with v1.20 (−USD 551.45 versus −USD 536.64). OHLC modelling is less detailed than real ticks. Results depend on broker contract specifications, historical data, spread, fees and execution. Gallery images 1–3 show the current v1.20 comparisons. Images 4–6 are historical captures of the previous release: their figures and protection wording are superseded by this description and the first three images.

• InpClosedBarSignals = false; InpEntryCooldownBars / InpKillCooldownBars = 0; InpCloseRetrySeconds = 5.
• InpProtectionResetId = 0: increase only when deliberately resetting a stored protection lock after reviewing the account.

Requirements and risk

MetaTrader 5 hedging account, BTCUSD or the broker equivalent, one H1 chart per symbol/magic number. Test with your own broker first: lot size and contract value are broker-specific. The USD 5,000 test balance is a test condition, not a guaranteed safe minimum. Saved terminal state is not automatically transferred to another terminal.

No guaranteed drawdown ceiling: the 25% basket threshold is not a maximum peak-to-trough account drawdown. Protections are software-managed and require the terminal, connection and broker execution to remain available. Gaps, closed markets and refused orders can exceed thresholds. Capital-floor calculations use whole-account equity but close only this EA's symbol/magic positions. Trading leveraged crypto CFDs can cause substantial losses.
