Smc Trend Heatmap
The Smc Trend Heatmap is a free multi-timeframe bias dashboard for MetaTrader 5. It scans five timeframes simultaneously - M5, M15, M30, H1, and H4 - and shows the current trend direction on each using a three-condition EMA logic. The dashboard updates continuously in a corner panel and provides an overall bias summary across all active timeframes.
The indicator does not draw lines or arrows on the price chart. It operates entirely as a panel and can be placed on any chart regardless of timeframe, since it independently fetches data for all five timeframes internally.

How the bias rules work
For a timeframe to read as bullish, three conditions must all be true at the same time: the fast EMA must be above the slow EMA, the current price must be above the trend EMA, and the fast EMA must be rising compared to its previous value. A bearish reading requires the reverse of all three conditions. Any other state, such as a crossover in progress or price caught between the EMAs, produces a neutral reading. This three-condition approach avoids the false readings that single EMA crossovers produce during sideways markets.
Key settings
| Setting | Default | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Fast EMA period | 21 | Reacts quickly to recent price change |
| Slow EMA period | 50 | Confirms the medium-term trend direction |
| Trend EMA period | 200 | Long-term institutional trend reference |
| Timeframe toggles | All on | Enable or disable individual timeframe rows |
| Panel position | Upper left | Dashboard corner and pixel offset |
What appears on the chart
The dashboard shows one row per active timeframe. Each row displays the timeframe label, the current bias reading (bullish, bearish, or neutral), and a directional symbol. A summary row at the bottom shows the overall bias based on which direction holds the majority of active timeframes. The dashboard background colour adapts to the individual row bias for quick visual identification.
Compatibility
Works on any symbol and any chart timeframe in MetaTrader 5. No DLL imports. No external connections. All EMA handles are created once on load and released on removal.
