Moving Average Alert

Moving Average Alert is a customizable MetaTrader indicator designed to monitor price interaction with a Moving Average and generate alerts when specific candle conditions are met.

The indicator can identify when a candle closes above or below the selected Moving Average, or when the current price touches the Moving Average while meeting your specified bullish or bearish conditions.

It is suitable for traders who use Moving Averages as part of their trend-following, pullback, breakout, or price-action trading strategies.

Choose the alert condition that best fits your strategy:

  • Price Closed Above

    • Detects bullish candles that close above the Moving Average.

    • Detects bearish candles that close below the Moving Average.

  • Price Closed Above/Below

    • Monitors both bullish closes above and bearish closes below the Moving Average.

  • Price Touched Up

    • Detects bullish price interaction with the Moving Average.

  • Price Touched Down

    • Detects bearish price interaction with the Moving Average.

  • Price Touched MA

    • Monitors both bullish and bearish interactions with the Moving Average.

  • Disabled

    • Turns alert monitoring off.

📏 Candle Size Filter

The indicator allows you to filter alerts according to candle size.

Choose between:

  • Full Length – evaluates the complete candle high-to-low range.

  • Body Length – evaluates the candle's open-to-close body.

You can also specify a minimum candle size in pips.

Set the value to 0 to allow candles of any size.

⏱ Multi-Timeframe Monitoring

The Moving Average Alert can monitor a selected timeframe independently of the chart timeframe.

Supported timeframes include:

  • M1

  • M5

  • M15

  • M30

  • H1

  • H4

  • D1

  • W1

  • MN1

This allows you to keep your trading chart on one timeframe while monitoring Moving Average conditions on another.

You can enable or disable each notification method according to your preference.

📝 Custom Alert Notes

Add your own message or trading reminder using the Note Alert parameter.

Your custom note is included in the generated alert, making it easier to associate the notification with your trading strategy.

🔎 Price-Action Filtering

The indicator does more than simply detect whether price is above or below a Moving Average.

Its alert conditions also evaluate factors such as:

  • Candle direction

  • Candle body size

  • Candle range

  • Price interaction with the Moving Average

  • Candle wicks

  • Previous candle prices

  • Moving Average position

This helps reduce simple price-cross notifications and focuses alerts on specific price-action conditions.

It would be great if the indicator had a built-in timer, so that when it touches the moving average, a timer could be set for when it can trigger again. This is because too many alerts are coming through. Thank you.
