Crossfire Sovereign: Where Two Lines Collide, One Trade Rules
Crossfire Sovereign is a fully automated Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5. It trades one of the oldest and most watched signals in technical analysis, the crossover of a fast and a slow exponential moving average. Most crossover robots enter on every cross, chase weak moves and ignore risk. Crossfire Sovereign only acts when a cross passes a chain of filters, and once in a trade it manages it, protects it and steps aside when conditions turn against it.
It uses no grid, no martingale and no averaging down. Every trade is opened with a stop loss and is managed on its own merits.
How the signal works
The EA reads a fast EMA (default 20) and a slow EMA (default 50). A golden cross is the fast EMA crossing above the slow one, and it produces a buy signal. A death cross is the fast EMA crossing below the slow one, and it produces a sell signal. Signals are evaluated once per new bar on completed candles only, so the EA never trades on a half-formed cross that disappears before the candle closes. This also keeps backtest and live behavior consistent.
The filter chain: why not every cross gets traded
- Trend filter. An optional 200 EMA acts as the higher-trend judge. Buys are only allowed when the last closed candle is above it, and sells only when it is below. This removes many counter-trend crosses.
- Minimum EMA separation. A cross where the two averages barely part is usually noise. You can set a minimum distance in points that the EMAs must have between them after the cross, so flat, choppy crosses are rejected.
- Trading direction control. Choose Buy Only, Sell Only or Buy and Sell, so you can match the EA to your bias or your account's rules.
- Session filter. Trade only inside a time window you define, including overnight windows that cross midnight (for example 21:00 to 06:00). This lets you avoid thin liquidity, rollover hours or sessions your symbol behaves badly in.
- Gap protection. If a large gap opens at the day boundary against the signal direction, the EA skips the trade instead of entering straight into it. You set the maximum gap allowed.
Position sizing
- Fixed lot for full manual control.
- Auto lot by risk percentage. The EA calculates the lot size from your balance, your risk percentage and the actual stop distance of the trade, using the symbol's tick value and tick size.
- Margin safety cap. Lot size is always limited so the trade never uses more than 90 percent of free margin. If even the minimum lot cannot be afforded, the EA skips the trade.
- Lot normalization. Volumes are rounded to the symbol's real volume step, minimum and maximum, so orders are not rejected for invalid volume.
Stop loss and take profit
- Fixed points mode with your own stop loss and take profit values. Take profit can be set to zero to let winners run and rely on the trailing stop.
- ATR mode. Stops and targets scale with current volatility using the Average True Range, with separate multipliers for SL and TP. Stops widen in fast markets and tighten in quiet ones.
- Spread-adjusted distances. The current spread is added to the stop and target distances so trades are not stopped out by spread alone.
- Broker distance compliance. Every SL and TP is checked against the broker's minimum stop level, so orders are not rejected for invalid stops.
Active trade management
- Break-even. After the trade reaches a profit trigger you set, the stop moves to entry plus a small lock-in, so a winner cannot easily turn into a loser.
- Trailing stop. Once price moves far enough, the stop follows price at a fixed distance and only advances in steps you choose. This avoids constant tiny modifications that annoy brokers.
- Broker-safe modification. Stop moves respect the stop and freeze levels before being sent.
- Signal reversal. When the opposite cross appears, the EA closes the open opposite position first, then evaluates the new entry. It never holds two conflicting trades from the same system.
Account protection
- Maximum spread filter. Block entries when the spread is too wide, for example around news or rollover.
- Daily loss limit. The EA tracks the day's closed and floating result for its own trades. If losses reach your percentage limit, it stops opening new trades until the next day.
- Maximum trades per day. Optionally cap how many entries can be opened per day.
- Weekend protection. On Fridays, at the hour you choose, all open positions are closed and new entries are blocked, so you do not carry weekend gap risk.
On-chart dashboard
A dark, professional panel shows everything at a glance: trading mode, status (Active, Paused with the reason, or Blocked), current position, last signal with direction and time, live spread, free margin, session state, trend direction, the day's profit or loss, and trades taken today. When the EA is holding back, the dashboard tells you why.
Compatibility and behavior
- Works on netting and hedging accounts.
- Works on any symbol and timeframe. It is best suited to trending instruments such as gold, major forex pairs and indices, on M15 to H4 charts.
- Uses a magic number, so it can run alongside other EAs and manual trades.
- No DLLs and no external web requests.
- Point-based inputs (stop, target, break-even, trailing, gap, separation) are in points, so scale them to the symbol you trade.
Getting started
Attach the EA to one chart, choose your timeframe, and keep the defaults for your first tests. For backtesting, use the Strategy Tester with "Every tick based on real ticks" for the most realistic results, and always demo test before going live.
Risk warning
Trading leveraged instruments involves substantial risk. Past performance and backtest results do not guarantee future results. No EA wins every trade, and Crossfire Sovereign is built to limit risk and manage trades, not to remove risk. Use money you can afford to lose.
