Time Shifter is an Expert Advisor developed for XAUUSD on MetaTrader 5.
The EA evaluates trading conditions and executes trades according to its internal rules. Trade entries use predefined Stop Loss and Take Profit levels, supported by configurable position sizing and holding-time controls.
Trading frequency depends on market conditions and the EA’s settings. The EA does not necessarily open trades every day.
Money Management
Time Shifter offers two position-sizing options:
- Risk Percent: Calculates position size using the selected risk percentage.
- Fixed Lot: Uses your specified lot size.
Optional Adaptive Compounding adjusts position sizing with additional controls for estimated trade risk, portfolio exposure, and margin usage.
Adaptive Compounding is disabled by default. When enabled, it may skip trades if the account balance or broker’s minimum lot size prevents the trade from meeting its configured limits.

Recommended Setup
- Platform: MetaTrader 5.

- Default chart: H1.

- Connection: Keep the terminal connected with algorithmic trading enabled.
Check your broker’s spread, commission, contract size, minimum lot size, and execution conditions before trading.
Follow the EA’s WebRequest setup instructions and review its status messages to confirm that setup is complete.
Position Management
Time Shifter combines Stop Loss and Take Profit levels with a configurable holding-time limit.
The default limit is 36 trading hours. Weekends and market closures can extend the elapsed calendar time. Position closure remains subject to market availability and successful execution.
Testing Information
The current version includes a tester-only historical replay mode for a defined historical period. Results from that period reconstruct stored trades and should be distinguished from tests of the live trading logic.
Evaluate live behavior through demo forward testing using your intended broker and settings.

- Test the EA on a demo account.
- Observe trading frequency, execution, and drawdown.
- Choose position-sizing settings appropriate for your account.
- Review balance guidance when using Adaptive Compounding.
A period without trades can mean that entry conditions have not been met or that a configured control is preventing a new position.
