GoldTrend Pro is an intelligent trend-following Expert Advisor designed specifically for Gold (XAUUSD) on the M15 timeframe. It combines classical moving average trend detection with advanced mathematical models including Markov volatility regime detection, Bayesian signal scoring, and Kelly Criterion position sizing.
The EA identifies high-probability pullback entries within established trends, dynamically adjusts risk parameters based on current market volatility conditions, and manages positions with a multi-stage exit system.
This is NOT a grid, martingale, or averaging EA. Every trade has a fixed stop loss.
How It Works
Entry Logic: The EA waits for a confirmed trend (Fast MA above/below Slow MA), then enters when price pulls back to the Fast MA and shows a reversal signal — either a crossback above/below the MA or a touch-and-bounce pattern with a strong confirmation candle.
Volatility Regime Detection (Markov Model): The EA continuously monitors ATR relative to its historical distribution to classify the current market into one of three regimes:
- Trending (High Volatility): Wider stops, larger profit targets — lets winners run
- Ranging (Low Volatility): Tighter stops, closer targets — quick in-and-out
- Normal: Blended parameters
This adaptive approach prevents the common problem of using trend parameters in ranging markets (and vice versa).
Signal Quality Scoring (Bayesian): Each signal is scored 0-100 based on five factors: MA separation strength, MA slope momentum, candle body ratio, close position within range, and trend persistence. Strong signals receive larger position sizes; weak signals receive smaller sizes. No signals are filtered out — the EA adjusts exposure instead.
Session Filter (Information Ratio): Based on extensive backtesting analysis, certain trading hours consistently produce higher risk-adjusted returns. The EA avoids low-quality sessions and increases exposure during high-quality sessions.

Important Notes
- Server Time: The session filter hours (Good/Bad Hours) are based on server time. Please adjust according to your broker's server timezone. Most brokers use GMT+2 or GMT+3.
- Spread Sensitivity: The EA includes a spread filter (default 40 points). If your broker has wider spreads on Gold, you may need to increase this value.
- Parameter Optimization: While default parameters work well, quarterly re-optimization is recommended as market microstructure evolves.
- VPS Recommended: For consistent execution, running on a VPS close to your broker's server is recommended.
