Inflation tells us how much prices are going up compared to last year.
For example — if something cost €100 last year and inflation is 1%, it now costs €101.
In this chart:
• Actual: 1.0% → That’s the real inflation number for October.
• Previous: 1.2% → Last month it was higher, so prices are rising slower now.
• Consensus: 1.1% → That’s what experts expected, and the result came in slightly lower.
So basically — prices in France are still rising, but not as fast as before.
That’s good news for normal people (things aren’t getting expensive too fast),
but it also means the economy is cooling down a bit — which traders watch closely.
💡 As a trader, this kind of data helps you guess what the European Central Bank (ECB) might do next with interest rates.
Lower inflation → They might keep rates steady or cut them.
Higher inflation → They might raise rates to slow prices down.
