Matter
- Indicatori
- Versione: 1.0
Traders need clear, volatility-adjusted reference levels across multiple timeframes without cluttering the chart with separate indicators or constant manual calculations. This indicator provides a single visual grid system that shows ATR-derived spacing from a chosen anchor (current open candle or last closed candle). This supports grid trading, mean-reversion setups, range identification, and multi-timeframe confluence analysis. The optional State 3 mode adds a time-based 12-hour cycle (AM/PM style) for traders who structure sessions around fixed hourly boundaries.
Benefits
- Multi-timeframe overview in one tool: Enable any combination of M1, M5, M15, M30, H1, H4, D1, W1, and MN1. Higher timeframes render brighter for natural visual hierarchy.
- Volatility-adaptive spacing: Uses ATR (default period 10, multiplier 2) with configurable min/max pip limits, so grids expand or contract with market conditions.
- Flexible anchoring: Choose fixed levels from the latest closed candle or live-updating levels from the current open candle.
- Optional State 3 mode: Anchors the grid to a user-defined hour/minute and switches every 12 hours, useful for session-based or cycle trading.
- Clean on-chart labels: Optional ATR values (in pips) for each active timeframe plus current state and anchor mode.
- Lightweight and non-intrusive: Lines are drawn as chart objects (hidden, non-selectable, background-capable) and cleaned up on removal. Color shading keeps the chart readable even with multiple timeframes enabled.
- Practical defaults: Sensible starting values that compile and run immediately; all key parameters are exposed as inputs.
Limitations
- Visual tool only: No alerts, arrows, or automated trading signals. It supplies levels for discretionary use.
- Object-based drawing: With many timeframes and high LinesPerSide values, the chart can accumulate many horizontal lines. Performance is generally fine, but extreme settings increase object count.
- Data dependency: ATR and price anchors on higher timeframes require sufficient history. On newly opened charts or low-history symbols, levels may be incomplete until data loads.
- State 3 is specialized: The 12-hour cycle mode is useful for specific session styles but adds complexity; most users will stay in Normal mode.
- Fixed timeframe set: Limited to the nine standard TFs listed; custom or exotic timeframes are not supported.
- No built-in risk or position tools: Spacing is pure ATR-derived; it does not incorporate spread, commission, or account-based risk calculations.
In short, Matter is a practical multi-timeframe ATR grid for traders who want clean, volatility-based levels across timeframes without managing multiple indicators. It prioritizes visual clarity and flexibility while remaining lightweight.
