It has long been known that the Milky Way and Andromeda are moving towards each other. A more likely event in the next 4 billion years is the transformation of the Sun into a red giant and the absorption of the Earth. And an even more probable event and in the much nearer future is the destruction and extinction of the present civilisation, as has happened at least 5 times already. So without galactic collisions, our mother planet will not be bored.
