Most EA posts show you an equity curve. I want to show you something smaller: one basket, every trade in it, from the first fill to the close. If you understand one basket, you understand how Twin Ignition Gold makes and loses money.

The day I picked is 27 February 2026 from the Strategy Tester (XAUUSD, 100% real ticks, 0.01 lot, real commission). It is not the best basket of the year. I picked it because it has everything: a false break, two stop-losses, a switch to the other side, and a close at the target.

Twin Ignition Gold basket on XAUUSD, 27 Feb 2026: three H4 boxes and four entries

Step 1: the box

Every four hours the EA takes the last closed H4 candle and places two pending orders just outside it: a buy stop above the high and a sell stop below the low. At 08:00 the box was 5173.33 to 5200.22. Each order's stop-loss sits at the other order's entry price, so the risk of every trade is roughly the size of the box, and you know it before anything fills.

Step 2: the false break

At 11:48 price slipped under the box and the sell filled at 5172.50. At 12:00 a new H4 candle closed, so the EA cancelled the old pending buy and drew Box 2 (5172.19 to 5198.90). Price dipped again and a second sell filled at 5172.01. Two sells open, both waiting for gold to fall.

It didn't. Gold rallied back up through the whole box.

Step 3: the stop and the switch

At 15:07 price reached 5198.95. Sell #2 hit its stop-loss, and at the same moment the buy stop from Box 2 filled at 5198.96. Three seconds later Sell #1 was also stopped out at 5200.91, a little past its 5200.27 level, because in a fast move stops fill where the market is.

This was the worst moment of the basket. You can see it in the second chart: the whole basket was down $65.67.

Running basket net P/L minute by minute, deepest point -65.67, closed +18.44

Notice what the EA did not do. It did not add a bigger lot to win it back. The lot size is the same 0.01 on every trade. It also did not close the basket at a loss, because one buy was still open and the basket is judged as one unit.

Step 4: the target

At 16:00 Box 3 was drawn from the 12:00 to 16:00 candle (5168.58 to 5240.15). At 17:13 price broke the top and a second buy filled at 5240.20. Now two buys were open.

The basket exit is one number: 0.25 x ATR(H4, 120), which was $18.61 that day. It is not a take-profit per trade. At 18:15 the basket P/L crossed it and the EA closed both buys at 5257.00.

Basket ledger: two sells stopped, two buys closed at target, net +18.44

The two sells lost $55.62. The two buys made $74.58. Commission was $0.52. Basket net: +$18.44 in 6.4 hours.

What this tells you

  • Win rate per trade means little here. Half of the trades in this basket lost, and the basket still closed in profit.
  • The risk on each trade is fixed and visible. Every position has a real stop-loss on the server.
  • A basket can sit in drawdown for hours before it closes. If you can't watch -$65 at 0.01 lot without stepping in, use a smaller lot or a bigger account.
  • Not every basket ends like this. When price chops back and forth inside the boxes, stops can stack up before a breakout pays for them. That is the cost of the method, and it shows in the backtest numbers on the product page.

Twin Ignition Gold runs two engines on the same idea with slightly different rules. On this day both engines traded the same basket, so the figures above are for one engine.
