Burning Teko Trading Companion: User Guide (MT5 manual backtest panel)

Burning Teko Trading Companion is an on-chart panel for MetaTrader 5 that lets you trade by hand inside the Strategy Tester (visual mode). Normally you can only watch a backtest; with this panel you can click BUY, SELL, HEDGE or CLOSE while the test runs, exactly like on a live chart. This guide explains every part of the panel.

1. GETTING STARTED

1. Open the Strategy Tester (Ctrl+R).

2. Select Burning Teko Trading Companion as the Expert.

3. Choose your symbol (the panel was built for XAUUSD) and timeframe (M1 recommended).

4. Enable Visual mode and start the test.

5. The panel appears in the top-left corner of the chart. Use the speed slider to slow the test down while you trade.

The same panel also works on a live or demo chart.

2. THE TOP OF THE PANEL

- Equity: your current equity, updated on every tick.

- P/L: the floating profit or loss of all open positions (green when positive, red when negative).

- Move symbol (top-right): drag the centre of this symbol to move the whole panel. Double-click it first to select it.

3. INPUT BOXES

Each value can be changed with the + and - buttons while the test is running.

- Lot Size: the volume for BUY, SELL, BUY STOP and SELL STOP.

- SL / TP: stop loss and take profit in points (0 = none). Applied to new orders.

- FH Dist: the distance in points used by Floating Hedge, BUY STOP / SELL STOP and the Trailing Stop.

4. ORDER BUTTONS

- BUY / SELL: open a market position with the lot, SL and TP from the panel.

- HEDGE: opens the opposite position for your net lot, so your buy and sell lots become balanced (net 0).

- BUY STOP / SELL STOP: place a pending order FH Dist points above (Buy Stop) or below (Sell Stop) the current price.

- Close Pending: cancels your Buy Stop and Sell Stop orders. The Floating Hedge order is not touched.

5. FLOATING HEDGE

Floating Hedge places a pending stop order in the opposite direction of your net position: net long gives a SELL STOP below the price, net short gives a BUY STOP above the price. The distance is FH Dist. Each time you click Floating Hedge again, the pending order moves to the new price, so it follows the market like a trailing stop. If the price reverses and touches it, your position is hedged and your equity is locked until you decide what to do next.

- Close FH cancels the Floating Hedge order.

- To change the distance, set a new FH Dist value and click Floating Hedge again.

6. TRAILING STOP

The Trailing Stop button switches trailing ON (orange) and OFF (grey).

- ON: every open position gets a stop loss FH Dist points from the price. The stop only moves in the profit direction.

- OFF: trailing stops and the SL and TP of all positions are removed.

7. CLOSING POSITIONS

- Close Buy / Close Sell / Close All: close all buy, all sell, or all positions.

- Close (next to each position in the list): closes only that position.

- Delete SL/TP: removes the SL and TP from all open positions.

8. POSITION LIST AND STATUS LINE

- Positions: the number of open positions and the net lot (net BUY, net SELL or BALANCE 0 lot).

- Each open position is listed with its type, lot, open price and P/L.

- The grey status line at the bottom shows the last action and the server result (for example "act:FHEDG ret:10009 done"). This helps you see whether an order was accepted.

9. CHART TOOLS

- MA200, EMA20 and Bollinger Bands on the chart, and an RSI + Stochastic window below it.

- Woodie Pivot Points.

- Swing lines: the nearest swing high above the price and swing low below it.

- Multi-timeframe table (bottom-right): RSI and Stochastic for M1 to D1. A row turns green when RSI is above 70 and Stochastic above 80, or RSI below 30 and Stochastic below 20. An optional sound alert plays when H1 turns green.

All of these can be switched on or off in the inputs.

10. MAIN INPUTS

- Default Lot, SL, TP, Magic number

- Floating Hedge distance

- Step for the + / - buttons (lot and points)

- Panel position (X, Y) and font size

- Show/hide indicators, Woodie Pivots, MTF table and swing lines

- Swing strength and number of bars scanned

- Candle colours, grid and trade history display

11. TIPS

- Use M1 with visual mode and a slow speed for the most realistic manual practice.

- Keep a trading journal: note why you entered, then check the result at the end of the test.

- If a button does not react, check the status line for the server result.
