CADCHF weekly — the widest gap on the panel is a tie on the oscillator
The panel has CAD at the top of the eight at +0.06 and CHF alone at the bottom at −0.09. On that reading they are as far apart as the ranking allows.
CADCHF weekly, closed 02 August bar. The panel ranks the eight currencies on recent movement — CAD strongest at +0.06, CHF weakest at −0.09. The middle pane is the same decomposition as a history at a 50-bar lookback, in pair mode: CAD minus CHF, currently +0.035. The lower pane plots the two separately — grey is CHF at +0.056, red is CAD at −0.958.
The oscillator, on the same chart at the same moment, disagrees completely. At a 50-bar lookback on a weekly chart — about a year of history — CAD reads −0.958 and CHF reads +0.056. The franc has been the stronger of the two for most of that period.
The middle pane is the same decomposition reduced to one relationship: CAD minus CHF. It sits at +0.035, which is as close to level as it has been since early 2025. The lower pane plots both currencies separately and shows how they arrived there — CHF holding a clear lead through most of 2025, then giving it up steadily from March.
What the two readings are actually saying
Neither is wrong. The panel measures recent movement, so it reports where the eight currencies stand this week. The oscillator measures the last fifty weekly bars, so it reports a year. Over the last few sessions CAD is the strongest of the eight and CHF the weakest. Over the last year the two are level, having converged from opposite directions.
A snapshot cannot show you that convergence. It can only tell you today's ranking, and today's ranking happens to be the widest gap on the board between two currencies that a longer measure calls a tie.
That is a description of what has happened. It is not a forecast, and nothing here says which of the two windows should matter more to you. Values quoted are from the closed 02 August bar.
