Smart Trend Momentum EA (M30) — VWAP + EMA + MACD Strategy
Smart Trend Momentum EA is a fully automated trading system designed for the MetaTrader 5 platform, built to identify and trade high-probability trend opportunities using a combination of trend alignment, institutional bias, and momentum confirmation.
The EA operates on the M30 timeframe and is optimized for the following symbols:

Trading Strategy
The system follows a structured, rule-based approach to ensure trades are only taken in favorable market conditions.
Trend Filter (EMA Alignment)
The EA uses a dual EMA structure to determine the overall trend direction:
- Buy trades only when price is above EMA20 and EMA20 is above EMA200
- Sell trades only when price is below EMA20 and EMA20 is below EMA200
Trades are avoided when the market shows mixed signals.
VWAP Filter (Market Bias)
A daily VWAP is calculated internally and reset at the start of each trading day:
- Buy trades only above VWAP
- Sell trades only below VWAP
This helps align entries with the dominant market side.
Entry Signal (MACD Confirmation)
Trades are triggered based on momentum:
- MACD crossover on the last closed candle
- Increasing histogram strength in the direction of the trade
Ranging Market Protection
The EA includes a built-in filter to avoid low-volatility or sideways markets by analyzing:
- MACD behavior
- Frequency of crossovers
- Momentum strength
- Market compression
Trades are blocked during unfavorable conditions.
Entry Conditions
A trade is opened only when all filters confirm:
- Trend alignment (EMA20 & EMA200)
- VWAP confirmation
- MACD signal
- Market is not ranging
- No active position
Risk Management
- Stop Loss is automatically placed based on recent market structure (last 20 bars)
- Minimum stop distance is enforced
- Fixed lot size: 0.01
- Only one trade at a time
Exit Strategy
The EA does not use a fixed Take Profit.
Positions are closed automatically when an opposite MACD signal appears, allowing trades to run while momentum remains strong.
