Market-Structure Breakout Detection

Breaksmith does not simply place pending orders above the latest high or below the latest low.

Three Built-In Lot-Sizing Modes

Breaksmith includes three preset exposure profiles. The EA automatically calculates the appropriate trade size according to the selected mode and the account balance.

Conservative Mode

Approximately $1,500 account balance per 0.01 lot

Designed for traders who prioritise lower exposure, reduced account pressure and greater tolerance for normal drawdown periods.

Example:

• $1,500 balance: approximately 0.01 lot
• $3,000 balance: approximately 0.02 lot
• $7,500 balance: approximately 0.05 lot
• $15,000 balance: approximately 0.10 lot

This is the preferred starting mode for users focused on capital preservation and long-term sustainability.

Balanced Mode

Approximately $750 account balance per 0.01 lot

Designed to provide a middle ground between conservative exposure and stronger growth potential.

Example:

• $750 balance: approximately 0.01 lot
• $1,500 balance: approximately 0.02 lot
• $3,750 balance: approximately 0.05 lot
• $7,500 balance: approximately 0.10 lot

Balanced Mode increases exposure compared with Conservative Mode and may produce larger gains and larger drawdowns.

High-Risk Mode

Approximately $250 account balance per 0.01 lot

Designed for users who intentionally accept substantially higher risk in pursuit of more aggressive account growth.

Example:

• $250 balance: approximately 0.01 lot
• $500 balance: approximately 0.02 lot
• $1,250 balance: approximately 0.05 lot
• $2,500 balance: approximately 0.10 lot

High-Risk Mode can experience significant drawdowns and is not recommended for traders who are unable to tolerate substantial account fluctuations.

Past backtest growth under High-Risk Mode should not be interpreted as an expectation of future results.

Fixed-Lot Option

A fixed-lot mode is also available for traders who prefer to control the exact volume used on every entry.

This can be useful for:

• Evaluation accounts
• Custom portfolio allocation
• Forward testing
• Users with their own risk-management framework
• Accounts where the automatic presets are not appropriate

Breaksmith includes an optional economic-news filter for traders who prefer to reduce exposure around major scheduled announcements.

Available controls include:

• Enable or disable high-impact news filtering
• Select the number of minutes before an event during which new trades are blocked
• Select the number of minutes after an event during which new trades remain blocked
• Choose whether trading should be blocked when news data is unavailable

The news filter is optional because some traders may wish to trade breakouts created by major events, while others may prefer to avoid the additional spread, slippage and volatility that can occur around announcements.

The default configuration can be used without modification.

Breaksmith was not developed around martingale recovery, uncontrolled averaging or unlimited position accumulation.
