Sessions and News Panel
An on-chart dashboard that shows the world's trading sessions and the economic
calendar in real time, plus an optional News Guard that can protect your account
around high-impact news.
This is a utility / information panel. It does NOT open trades on its own and it
is NOT a signal system. Its only trading action is the optional News Guard, which
can cancel pending orders and/or close open positions around scheduled news - and
only when you explicitly enable it.
------------------------------------------------------------------
WHY IT IS DIFFERENT
------------------------------------------------------------------
All times are computed from GMT (TimeGMT) plus your broker's live server offset
(TimeCurrent - TimeGMT). The panel therefore adapts automatically to ANY broker,
with no hardcoded server time and no manual GMT-offset input. Daylight Saving Time
is handled correctly and independently for Europe (EU), the United States (US) and
Australia, so the sessions stay accurate all year, including the transition weeks
when the US and Europe switch DST on different dates (a warning banner is shown
during that shift).
The main bars use the real stock-exchange hours (ASX, TSE, Xetra, LSE, NYSE plus
the Asian exchanges HKEX, SSE, SGX). The wider 24/5 forex-session convention is
shown as a secondary marker, so you get both views at once.
------------------------------------------------------------------
THE 8 SESSIONS
------------------------------------------------------------------
- Sydney (ASX) - Hong Kong (HKEX)
- Tokyo (TSE) - Shanghai (SSE)
- Frankfurt (Xetra) - Singapore (SGX)
- London (LSE)
- New York (NYSE)
You choose which sessions appear on the Timeline with simple checkboxes on the
Exact Hours tab.
------------------------------------------------------------------
THE 6 TABS
------------------------------------------------------------------
1. TIMELINE - a 24h bar for every selected session in server time, with a live
"now" line, session overlaps and an estimated relative-volume indicator, plus
the nearest current/next news events.
2. EXACT HOURS - a clean table with each session in SERVER time and LOCAL time,
its mode (fixed / shifted / weekend), and the forex window as a sub-line. Each
session has a checkbox to show or hide it on the Timeline.
3. OVERLAPS - the day split into segments, showing which sessions are open
together and the estimated activity level of each window.
4. NEWS SETTINGS - filter the economic calendar by currency (AUD, JPY, EUR, GBP,
USD) and by importance (Low / Medium / High). Adjust the look-ahead window
(days) and the "current news" +/- minute window live.
5. NEWS - a paginated list of upcoming events from the native MetaTrader economic
calendar, colored by currency and importance, in your broker's server time.
6. NEWS GUARD (off by default) - optional automatic protection around news.
------------------------------------------------------------------
NEWS GUARD
------------------------------------------------------------------
News Guard is OFF by default and must be enabled by hand. When enabled it can,
inside a configurable window around each filtered high-relevance event:
- cancel pending orders, and/or
- close open positions.
Actions are filtered by magic number (a comma-separated list; empty = all magic
numbers), so it only touches the orders you want. It keeps blocking matching new
orders/positions for the rest of the window. The trigger window reuses the
"current news" minute setting from the News Settings tab.
IMPORTANT: News Guard modifies live orders and positions. Always test it on a demo
account first and make sure the magic-number filter matches your setup.
------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTES
------------------------------------------------------------------
- The economic calendar uses MetaTrader's built-in calendar, which must be enabled
in the terminal. Some brokers/servers provide limited calendar data.
- The panel time is your BROKER SERVER time. It equals your local/country time only
if your broker's server runs on that timezone.
- Works on any symbol and timeframe; one chart is enough. It draws only its own
objects and temporarily hides grid/volumes/trade levels for a clean chart, then
restores your settings on removal.
No martingale. No grid trading. No profit promises - this is a decision-support
and protection tool.
