Overview
MPX-IBS4 is an Inside Bar Breakout Expert Advisor for Gold (XAUUSD) on the H1 timeframe. It identifies Inside Bar patterns where the current bar is fully contained within the previous bar's range, then filters for only the tightest setups using a Narrow Range Filter. Entries are placed as pending BuyStop/SellStop orders at the mother bar's extremes, aligned with the EMA trend direction.
The EA uses an OCO (One-Cancels-Other) system — once one pending order is triggered, the opposite is automatically cancelled.

How It Works
Entry Logic
- Inside Bar: current bar's high and low must be fully inside the previous (mother) bar
- Narrow Range Filter: inside bar width must be less than 40% of the mother bar width — only the tightest compressions qualify
- EMA Trend Filter (50): BuyStop placed only when price is above EMA; SellStop placed only when price is below EMA
- Entry is a pending stop order at the mother bar's extreme + ATR buffer
- OCO System: if one side triggers, the opposite pending order is immediately cancelled
- Pending orders expire automatically after a set number of bars if not triggered
Position Sizing
- Lot size calculated automatically based on % risk per trade
- SL set at the opposite extreme of the mother bar + ATR buffer
Risk:Reward
- Fixed RR ratio (default 2.5R) — TP = entry + (SL distance × RR Ratio)

Recommended Usage
- Default parameters are optimized for XAUUSD H1 and can be used as-is
- Lowering Risk_Percent (e.g. to 0.5%) will reduce drawdown proportionally
- Max_Pending_Bars controls how long to wait for a breakout — increase for wider patterns, decrease for tighter timing
- While optimized for XAUUSD, this EA can be applied to other symbols and timeframes with parameter re-optimization
Important Notes
- MPX-IBS4 is a Pattern-based Breakout EA — win rate is below 50% by design, compensated by a 2.5R reward ratio
- Performs best in trending markets where inside bars resolve cleanly in one direction
- Requires a Hedging account — does not support Netting accounts
- Always test on a Demo account first before going live
- Results will vary across brokers due to differences in spread and execution
