ATR Short Box Anchor MT5 is a visual risk-reward indicator for MetaTrader 5, specifically designed for planning short setups. The indicator creates an ATR-based short box directly on the chart, including entry, stop-loss zone, take-profit zone, and optional risk-reward information.
The indicator works with a freely movable anchor point. This anchor defines the desired entry price and the candle whose ATR value is used for the calculation. This allows a short setup to be planned quickly, flexibly, and visually cleanly.
Main FunctionAfter loading the indicator, an anchor point appears on the chart. This anchor can be moved freely.
The price of the anchor is used as the entry.
The candle on which the anchor is placed determines the ATR calculation.
Based on these values, the indicator automatically calculates:
Entry price
ATR of the anchor candle
Stop loss above the entry
Take profit below the entry
Risk distance
Risk-reward ratio
Visual risk and reward zones
The red zone shows the risk area from the entry to the stop loss.
In a short setup, this zone is located above the entry price.
The green zone shows the potential target area from the entry to the take profit.
In a short setup, this zone is located below the entry price.
The white dotted line marks the entry.
Calculation LogicThe indicator uses an ATR-based risk distance.
The stop loss is calculated as follows:
Stop Loss = Entry + ATR × ATR Multiplier
The take profit is calculated as follows:
Take Profit = Entry − Risk Distance × Risk-Reward Ratio
This allows the box to automatically adjust to the current market volatility. The stop loss is not placed randomly, but calculated based on the ATR.
Interactive Risk-Reward LabelsThe indicator includes a clear click-based system for displaying additional information.
When clicking on the short box, three information boxes appear:
Stop Box
Displays the stop-loss price, the percentage distance from the entry, and the absolute risk distance.
Entry Box
Displays the entry, ATR, and risk-reward ratio.
Target Box
Displays the take-profit price, the percentage distance from the entry, and the risk-reward ratio.
When clicking freely on the chart again, the information boxes are automatically hidden. This keeps the chart clean and ensures that additional information is only displayed when needed.
How to Use- Load the indicator onto the chart.
- Move the anchor point to the desired short entry.
- The ATR-based risk-reward box is calculated automatically.
- Click on the box to display detailed information.
- Click freely on the chart to hide the detailed information again.
The indicator automatically updates the box as soon as the anchor is moved.
SettingsATR Length
Defines the period of the ATR calculation. The default value is 14.
ATR Multiplier
Defines how far the stop loss is placed from the entry. The higher the value, the larger the risk zone.
Risk Reward
Defines the ratio between risk and target. A value of 1.5 means that the target is 1.5 times farther away than the stop loss.
Box Width in Bars
Defines how far the box is drawn to the right side of the chart.
Colors
The colors for the stop-loss zone, take-profit zone, entry line, anchor point, and information boxes can be customized.
Label Settings
Font size, font type, label height, padding, and vertical text position can be adjusted individually.
