Today I went fishing in the lake, I don't know what kind of freak made it there but all the fish were up in the air and swallowing it, I've never seen anything like this in my life, thousands of fish.

What could they have done?

Drain manure from a large livestock farm upstream of the river that flows into the lake. It's worse if it's fertilizer. If it's been raining for a long time, that's more likely.
