Sorry for late response, but needed to "read it" (the indicator) a bit more

If you set the Optimize parameter to true, then yes, it is optimizing on every new dailybar (and implicitly on every time frame or parameters change)

But also you get different results for every consecutive run. Results are (signal wise) looking good regardless of the "frequent change" (it is just normal to have frequent changes since the initial states are, when optimization is turned on, randomly set) but in some cases the changes are very big. Here are some examples : see the first one and then compare it to the last 3 - the last 3 are consistent as far as signal is concerned but are very different from the first one.

This inconsistency will disable reliable back testing (results are going to vary from case to case)

Anyway, however I look at it, it is a good candidate for optimization (read : rewriting the whole thing in C (dll)) Will try to do that and when I have some results (as of a working and tested and reliable dll) it will be posted here. But please be patient : those who know me a bit better know that I hate promises, and I just made a kind of a "half promise", but even more I hate "time boundaries" - so at least i can avoid the second part : I can not tell when, but I hope soon enough it will be ready (just see some other neuro dlls : not even qpwr succeeded to make fully workable dll (it is crashing my metatrader all the time) so ... will see)

Mladen

Thanks Mladen for great work. Mladen ,do you use(or benefit from) genetic algorithm to optimize your stategies or your personal indicators in real trading? If yes ,are they all CPU eaters? The attached indi brings my computer to its knee.Do they optimize on every new bar, do you know?

Thank you Mladen ,

Sorry for giving '' pushy'' image , whenever you are ready.

You said not even vladimir aka qpwr succeeded to make fully workable neuro dlls.I am thinking train my indicators(filtering with MLP ) and classify them (SVM) on some open source sofware like knime KNIME | Konstanz Information Miner so is it a waste of time? Thanks.

Don't worry about the "pushy" - just that this one will take more time

As of the rest : quite frankly, I think that we ("simple mortals") are always going to be lagging in the field of ANN-s. If I remember correctly test for even these kind of things : An introduction to neural networks were done on a monster computers not the ones most of us have at home or work (just remember the mathematicians IBM have there and still they need heavy weight computers and computer clusters). If I even had this one : Cray Inc., The Supercomputer Company - Products - CX1, CX1-LC, and CX1-iWS Systems (since I do not own a power plant for the "real thing" ) I would be happy as a monkey, but ...

We are in a kind of a "vicious circle" : what works on our computers in real time is most probably not what we are looking for (regarding ANN, of course) and what would be what we want we can not afford. All we can do is make little steps toward what the big ones have already ... Any ANN that can be used and can give results at least "partially trustable" is good till then

Even the results of the EMA_neuro_GA need to be tested and retested and retested. Just compare the above results to this one (same 1 hour time frame, but quantile bands from a few days ago) and it seems that the the processor time is not the primary in giving results (and this one is always giving same results)
It is an immense field (the whole TA) with a lot of unknowns and we should be happy for it : it gives us chance and opportunity to constantly learn. If we find the grail one day I suppose it will become a very boring place ...

The way it works now you have to choose : if you set the alertsOnLevelsCross to true it will alert when ADX crosses the level otherwise it will alert when ADX changes trend (DMI+ crosses DMI- and then the color is changed) I tested it and it works (in the manner described)

Anyway, changed the indicator to enable the 2 alerts simultaneously (so it can happen that both alerts are triggered on a same bar (depends on the values of course)) Added the alertsOnTrendChange which is alerting when color changes. You can set the 2 separately now

PS: the additional indicator is posted at the original post (here : https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/general ) in order to avoid duplicate posts.

Thanks again, great work as usual

Have a great evening!

Here is this one

It is a different one (only instantaneous trend line (iTrend) is left out from this ona) with some extra averages. Colors are changing correctly (no repainting) Multi time frame works correctly and you have an interpolated option too. Alerts added. No arrows (since it has non repainting color changes, no need for arrows) Just packed up a couple of then on a chart as an example (sma+lsma+hull)

Hi Mladen,

Thank you very much for the “Averages - MTF & Alerts”.

I overviewed entire elite section and I have approx. 150 downloads in total so far.

After trying many things I found that Moving Averages are the best tool that suites me. (Better late than never)

Also I found Hi-Low channel – Jurik smooth, Precision Trend and On Chart Stochastic (MTF) very helpful for confirmation. (Two Charts on Two Screens)

I also am looking for some upgrade in Trendline Envelops MTF.

Could you please offer all the built-in Averages that are present in “Averages – MTF & Alerts” with “Trendline Envelops – MTF” with Alerts?

(I.e. as of now Trendline Envelops –MTF offer SMA, EMA, SMMA and LWMA, but does not have HMA, LSMA, NonLagMA and Alerts)

Trendline Envelops will help to accommodate other indicators on chart and keep the chart neat.

To my knowledge the job you guys are doing, especially “Mladen”, is really commendable and extraordinary.

Thanks to “MrTool” for suggesting me Elite section when I was literally hunting for appropriate indicators in public forum.

Thank you all in advance.

Kind Regards,

Jho

Standard Fibtool

bkennedype:
I agree that this is how to apply the standard fib tool. Always draw the fib tool towards the price...then the percent pullbacks make sense. I've added the necessary extensions as for me, they don't exist in the standard mt4 tool for the way I draw them.

I'm also using the fibs based on weekly, monthly and yearly ranges, using the indicators mladen has built....and I anchor based on prior close (default is average of H,L and C).

For example....take the prior week's close and the prior weeks range. I want to know when price has travelled 23.6, 38.2, 50, 61.8, etc of that range. When weekly and monthly values line up, as per the AUDUSD chart attached, I mark those on my chart as potentially places to trade from. I still look for price action in and around those areas and what is happening overall in the respective currencies.

There are many ways to use fib calculations...I also use for a breakout strategy based on the NY close. But I never trade any of it without confirming price action.

Hi Ben,

Have you considered adding 76,4% and the 12,5% and 87,5% Fib-levels to your standard Fib-tool? I asked Alan Olivier whether one could do that while still remaining inside the Fibonacci limits and he very kindly pointed out that it was part of what Fibonacci had envisaged although it is never cold coded.

Also, there is a way to show the price behind each line if you don't have that already; its just that I cannot see you using it. See attached screen-print.

Best wishes.

Hi ValoeFX,

The 12.5 and 87.5 are values that I have not previously considered....but they do fit nicely in the sequence. Will add for the upcoming week to see how they work out.

Displaying the price works great with what i have. On my main trading screen...I don't use price...I'm more concerned with the fib number, round numbers, and specific areas that I have marked.

Here is my live EU chart...with areas of interest marked (and the 12.5 and 87.5 changed). I pay most attention to weekly 38.2 and 61.8 and when something weekly lines up with a monthly fib.

Not perfect, but tradeable...I use M15 price action (candle patterns mostly) for trade decisions.

The only other thing I use, which is not on this attached chart, is the triangular moving average bands...looking for extremes.....and price action and fib numbers at those extremes.

I do have a great indicator collection, and will test various indicators...but most lag and either prevent me from taking the trade or confirm after I have already taken the trade....but I do really like the bands.

Thanks for the fib numbers...

Ben

Here you go

I think I got everything OK (added all 10 averages from "averages" and alerts are working as they should). As an example : triangular MA (not centered, so no recalculation) trend envelopes
A pleasant weekend to all

You are most welcome, Squire.

Where did you get the WEEKLY Fib calculator from, please? I would also like to use that, but most of those that I have seen incorporates the Daily fibs as well and I don't want that.

If you have it, please may I have it?

Thanking you in advance.

Pleasant weekend.

Hello MLADEN

Could you please make a histo version of the trend envelopes (averages)mtf

thanks in advance.
