This is the adrenaline edition of the Grid Penny Collector EA back test: the M15 and M5 timeframes on 28 forex pairs, from 2020.01.01 to 2026.10.08. Prefer the calm, stable way? Read the stable M30 and H1 article first. Every result is shown for a cent account and for a standard account, always "according to the back test". Past results do not guarantee future results.
What is Grid Penny Collector EA?
Grid Penny Collector EA is a grid Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 built around one idea: collect small profits again and again, and use every small bounce to retire the oldest and heaviest order. It opens its grid levels from a momentum signal and a smart closer keeps trimming the book. It has a clear on-chart panel, protection filters (spread, margin level, floating loss, maximum orders) and verifies every closure against the deal history. Why 2020 to 2026?
We chose these years on purpose: they were some of the most turbulent in modern forex history, so a grid that survives them has been tested in every kind of market. According to the back test the period contains:
- 2020: the COVID-19 crash and the dash for dollars, record central bank stimulus, the oil price collapse (WTI below zero), the US election.
- 2021: reopening and vaccines, the supply-chain crisis, inflation surging.
- 2022: the Russia-Ukraine war and the energy crisis, the fastest Fed hikes in decades, a record strong US dollar, the UK mini-budget crisis and the pound at record lows, yen interventions.
- 2023: the SVB and Credit Suisse bank failures, the Israel-Hamas war, rates held at highs.
- 2024: the Bank of Japan ending negative rates, the August yen carry-trade crash, a huge election year, the first rate cuts.
- 2025-2026: tariff shocks and trade wars, Middle East conflicts, shifting central bank policy and sharp dollar swings.

Test conditions are the same here: delay 500 ms, leverage 1:500, maximum order volume 1.0, profit target mode Scaled, desired profit per closure 2.0, 99-100% history quality; AUDCAD, AUDJPY, AUDNZD and EURCAD used the Every tick model generated from complete 1-minute bars because the broker real ticks start late. Risk disclaimer for scalpers and the buffer rule
Stop and read. The fast timeframes open and close a huge number of trades, so the drawdown and the needed capital are many times higher than on M30 and H1 and the account swings can be heavy. They are meant for experienced, risk-aware traders. According to the back test the numbers look exciting, but past results do not guarantee future results; spreads, slippage and execution are harder than in a test and you can lose money. Start on a demo account with the smallest lot.
Cent and standard accounts. Total profit = Total Net Profit of the test; equity drawdown = Equity Drawdown Maximal, the worst fall of the account, the base of the needed capital. Cent account figures = the tested numbers divided by 100. Standard account figures = the raw tested numbers. Percentages are the same for both and are quoted on the good (+50%) level.
The buffer is a must. Every capital price in this article is the equity drawdown plus a buffer: +25% = minimum, +50% = good, +100% = best. Never start with less than the minimum; the best level is the safest.

According to the back test, sorted from the highest to the lowest yearly %: the best performers are first. Always read the drawdown and the capital too. Pairs that do not suit the current settings (M15 and M5)
According to the back test, AUD/NZD M5, CAD/JPY M5, CHF/JPY M5, GBP/CAD M5, GBP/JPY M5 and USD/JPY M15 and M5 ended with a negative total net profit, so they were excluded. These pairs and timeframes do not suit the current settings; it does not mean the EA cannot trade them. With other settings they may work: Run Grid Penny Collector EA yourself.
Stack many pairs: the smart way to use a small account
Some traders say a cent account is not worth it. The answer is simple: do not trade one pair, stack many pairs. Each pair needs only its own capital, so you can run as many different pairs as your capital can handle, each on its own chart with its own magic number. The profits add up and the risk is spread over many pairs instead of one.
Example, according to the back test: with $5,000 on a cent account and the best (+100%) buffer on every pair, you could run 5 different M15/M5 pairs (one timeframe per pair, listed below). Together they need $3,838 of capital and made an average of about $1 per day in the back test, about $39 per month, about 9% per year on the $5,000.
