A Simple Risk Plan For Your First Month With Any EA
Most Early Mistakes With An EA Have Nothing To Do With The EA. They're About Size, Patience, And Tinkering.
The first month with an automated system is where most people either settle into it or give up. The difference is usually decided by a handful of simple habits, set up before the first trade. Here's a plan that works with any EA, this one included. It's general education, not financial advice.
One: Decide Your Limit Before You Start
Work out the most you could lose without it affecting your life, rent, bills, or your sleep. That number is your ceiling, not your target. Never fund an account with money you can't afford to lose.
Two: Size For The Bad Stretch, Not The Good One
Every strategy has rough weeks. Choose a position size small enough that a few bad weeks would be uncomfortable but wouldn't hurt. A simple test: if a normal losing stretch would make you want to switch everything off, the size is too big.
Three: Don't Change Settings After A Loss
The most common way to damage a working system is to tweak it right after it hurts you. If you want to change a setting, write down why first and wait a few sessions. Decisions made in the moment are rarely the good ones.
Four: Judge It In Weeks, Not Days
A handful of trades is noise. Give any system at least several weeks, and compare its drawdown with the worst stretch you saw in testing. That tells you whether it's behaving normally.
Five: Keep A Simple Log
A few lines a week is enough: how the account did, what you changed, how you felt. It makes it much harder to fool yourself later about what actually happened.
Six: Test A Withdrawal Early
Whichever broker you use, withdraw a small amount early so you know it works before you depend on it.
Where To Start
The free demo costs nothing and lets you practice steps one to four on history before any real money is involved. The PU Prime route is free for the EA and runs on a live account, so keep it small. $199 stays until October 31st, then $330.
