When people see GoldDragon's backtest, the first question is often: "Where does that profit come from? Is it martingale?"
No. Here's the short answer, with numbers you can check yourself.
1. Seven strategies, not one
GoldDragon is not one strategy repeated over and over. It runs 7 independent modules on XAUUSD M5. Each one is built for a different kind of market: trending moves, pullbacks, sharp spikes, quiet ranges and so on.
Gold changes character all the time. A single strategy has good months and bad months. With seven, a bad week for one module is usually a normal week for the others. That's where the stability comes from. Not from bigger lots after a loss.
2. The numbers that rule out martingale
Current version, $1,000 start, XAUUSD M5, January 2025 to September 2026, real ticks, 99% quality.
| Win rate | about 50% |
| Average win vs average loss | $125 vs $62 (about 2 : 1) |
| Profit Factor | 2.02 |
| Trades | 2,169 (about 100 per month) |
| Deepest drawdown (relative) | 21% |
| Recovery Factor | 22.6 |

Look at the first two lines. A martingale EA shows the opposite pattern: a win rate of 90% or more, many tiny wins, and one rare loss that wipes out months. GoldDragon wins about half the time, and its winners are about twice the size of its losers. Every trade has a fixed stop-loss. Nothing is averaged down, and no lot is increased to recover a loss.
A Recovery Factor of 22.6 means the total profit was more than 22 times the deepest drawdown. The profit also isn't concentrated in one lucky day: every weekday, Monday to Friday, ended in profit over the test.
3. What about compounding?
GoldDragon grows the lot as the balance grows. That's compounding, and it's the opposite of martingale: lots grow after the account wins, never after it loses. I showed the full fixed-lot vs compounding comparison here:

4. See it live
Backtests are an upper reference. Live results will be lower because of real spreads and slippage. That's why every trade is public:
