Why my gold EA takes only one trade a day (AMD / Power of 3 at the NY open)

Most gold EAs on the Market trade dozens of times a day, often with a grid or martingale. I built AMD Sweep Reversal the opposite way: it waits for one clean pattern and takes at most one trade a day.
The pattern: Power of 3 at the New York open
1. Accumulation: gold builds an overnight range (00:00 to 09:30 New York time).
2. Manipulation: in the first two hours of the New York session, price often sweeps above or below that range and runs the stops.
3. Distribution: when price closes back inside the range and breaks the last swing (a market structure shift), the real move usually goes toward the other side of the range.
The EA enters only after that confirmation. Take profit is the opposite side of the range, the stop loss sits just beyond the sweep extreme, and the trade is closed before the New York session ends.
Risk control
- One position at a time, maximum one trade per day, SL and TP on every trade.
- Risk is halved after 2 losses in a row and while equity is more than 5% below its peak.
- Smaller size against the daily trend, no entry right after a news spike, daily loss limit.
- No grid, no martingale, no hedging, no averaging.
- Broker time zone (GMT+0 or GMT+2/+3) and US daylight saving are handled automatically.
How to test the free demo
XAUUSD, any timeframe, modelling "Every tick based on real ticks", at least 2 years of history, default settings. Because it trades only about 15-25 times a year, a test of a few weeks shows very few trades. That is the point: it waits for the setup instead of forcing trades.
For news traders I also made a small execution panel, AM Trader News Layer Bot, which splits a position into many small layers (0.01 first, biggest lots last): https://www.mql5.com/en/market/product/198348
Backtests are not live results. Trading gold with leverage is high risk. Test on a demo account first.
