Australian private equity firm Champ is believed to be on the cusp of buying foreign exchange broker Pepperstone.
It is understood that Champ could be acquiring Pepperstone in addition to one of its smaller rivals, which the broker itself was poised to buy.
Discussions have taken place between the Champ and Pepperstone in recent months, according to some sources. Others suggest that an acquisition of a foreign exchange broker by the buyout firm is in the offing.
