How a Demo Account at 14 Changed My Life – From Curious Beginner to Passionate MQL5 Developer

My First Look at the Markets – From a Game to a Passion
When I was 14 years old, I opened my first demo trading account purely out of curiosity. At first, trading felt just like playing a computer game: I made some random trades, sometimes betting on rising prices, sometimes on falling ones, and quickly forgot about the whole thing. But when I logged in again two weeks later, I couldn't believe my eyes—a four-digit profit was sitting in my account! At that moment, I realized trading was not just a game of chance. What started as casual play suddenly became something I was determined to understand deeply—a true passion had ignited.
The Chance Encounter at the Train Station – A Moment That Changed Everything
Although trading immediately fascinated me, my life initially remained fairly normal, with little connection to finance—until one day, also at age 14, when I happened to bump into an old acquaintance at the train station. Within minutes, we were amazed to discover we both shared a passion for trading. That single encounter changed everything: just two weeks later, we were attending a trading academy together.
There, I quickly learned that demo account success can be deceiving. Trading with real money turns into an emotional challenge. I realized that trading is 80% psychology and only 20% strategy. But I also discovered how valuable it is to have a good network of like-minded individuals. Together with my former trading colleague—now my business partner—I decided to pursue my own path and dive deeper into the world of trading.
From Gamer to MQL5 Developer – How I Started Programming
Initially, I had never even considered programming. However, as a gamer, I'd always been fascinated by how computers "think." One day, my father casually mentioned an internet bot supposedly making automatic profits on the market. That sparked my curiosity—I wondered if something like this could really exist and began researching immediately. Soon, I discovered MQL5 and the possibility to develop my own Expert Advisors that trade automatically.
I was instantly hooked and delved deeply into it. My first trading robots began to emerge, independently analyzing the market. What started as simple curiosity soon became a genuine calling.
My 'Why' – Trading with Purpose and Intelligence
Since the age of 17, I've fully dedicated all my time and energy to trading and programming. I often spend up to twelve hours a day developing new Expert Advisors, testing strategies, and continuously improving my knowledge.
For me, it’s not just about personal profit; it’s about solving common problems traders face daily—from emotional decision-making to unstable strategies. My goal is to develop sustainable and robust solutions that help others become successful traders over the long term.
Failures and Lessons Learned – Why Openness Makes Me Better
Of course, my journey hasn’t been without setbacks. Many of my first ideas and strategies failed—some even before they fully worked. But it’s precisely these failures that shaped me the most. Every setback made it clearer to me just how important a solid idea and robust algorithm truly are.
That’s why I now openly share my code and experiences on MQL5, often completely free. Engaging with the community continuously gives me new insights and helps me grow as a developer. I know firsthand how difficult it is to start trading and programming, so I want to help make this journey easier for others.
Why I Offer My Bots for Free (Initially)
I vividly remember my own beginnings, struggling to navigate and find a solid starting point. That's exactly why I consciously give people from my community early access to my newly released bots—for free.
The reason behind this approach is simple: whenever I release a new Expert Advisor on the Market, those who already know me or are part of my community have the opportunity to quickly secure a free version. This way, everyone who has supported me early and provides valuable feedback directly benefits before the bot becomes a paid product. After a brief period where I receive crucial feedback and further improve the EA, the full version becomes available for purchase. Early adopters benefit directly while also helping to enhance the Expert Advisor together.
My Concept – Free Full Versions for Quick Community Members
I deliberately choose a fair approach: as soon as I publish a new Expert Advisor in the Market, members of my community who act quickly receive a fully functional version for free. After this initial period, the full version will become available for purchase. For those who prefer not to spend money, I simultaneously publish a free beta version in the MQL5 Codebase. Although this beta version is simpler and lacks the full functionality of the Market version, it still allows everyone to start automated trading and experience my work. Thus, everyone has a fair chance to benefit from my efforts.
My Vision – From Solo Trader to a Successful Team
My dream is to build a team of like-minded individuals and experts from various fields, all collaborating on innovative trading solutions. Some community members will receive products for free, thoroughly test them, and provide valuable feedback. Everyone else gains access to affordable full versions—and from those earnings, new projects emerge, benefiting the entire community in the long run.
I firmly believe we can achieve far more together than anyone could alone.
Next Steps – How You Can Support Me
If you find my journey exciting, I invite you to check out my work on MQL5 and help test and refine the free beta versions of my bots early on. Take advantage of the opportunity to get new EAs for free whenever they're released.
Soon, there will also be an option to voluntarily support my work, enabling us to pursue even deeper, better, and more exciting projects together.
My goal is to build a powerful platform where we can support each other, learn from each other, and jointly develop innovative solutions for automated trading.
Conclusion – Trading is Psychology; Programming is Pure Passion
My name is Mustafa Seyyid Sahin. Everything started with a simple demo account when I was just 14 years old. Today, shortly before my 21st birthday, trading and developing Expert Advisors have become my greatest passion. Every day, I invest all my energy into developing sustainable, long-term successful solutions—for myself and my community.
Through this journey, I've realized that trading is 80 percent psychology, while programming hinges 80 percent on having the right idea. With curiosity, persistence, and a strong team, great things can be achieved.
I continue learning new things every single day, and that's precisely what makes my path so exciting. If you'd like to join me on this fascinating journey, I'd love to hear from you!
