The Gold SuperNova
The Gold SuperNova is an adaptive grid EA built only for gold (XAUUSD). It reads the market across several timeframes, decides whether gold is ranging or trending, and builds its grid to match. When a basket goes against it, a set of layered protection and recovery systems takes over.

The Gold SuperNova is a grid system with martingale-style lot progression. It does not use a fixed stop loss on each trade. Most of the time baskets close in profit, but a long, one-directional move in gold can push the account into a deep drawdown, and in extreme conditions the account can be lost.
It is designed to run on a cent account. Only use money you can afford to lose completely, and withdraw profits regularly. Do not run it on your main trading capital.
How it works
- Regime scoring: reads M1, M5 and M15 together and scores the market from strong bull to strong bear. Range conditions get a two-way grid. Trend conditions only add in the trend direction.
- Adaptive grid spacing: grid steps grow with volatility (ATR) and with depth, so deeper layers sit further apart.
- Staged brake hedge: when a basket’s floating loss and the adverse price move both pass set levels, the EA opens a partial hedge in stages. It releases the hedge step by step once price pulls back.
- Net rescue recovery: after a confirmed reversal, recovery orders are placed one by one on a wide-spaced ladder. Their aim is to bring the whole basket back to profit.
- Extreme risk budget: before every new order, the EA estimates the worst historical gold move. It blocks any order that would push stress risk over budget.
- Basket trailing: profitable baskets are trailed, not closed at a fixed target, to capture more of the move.
Protection and filters
- Built-in high-impact news filter (USD) with separate minutes before and after the event. It uses the MetaTrader 5 economic calendar, so no WebRequest setup is needed.
- Friday wrap-up: no new cycles in the last hours before the weekend close.
- Trading session start and stop time.
- Daily profit target.
- Max spread and slippage control.
- Automatic support for 2-digit and 3-digit gold quotes.
Lot sizing
- Fixed Lot: every basket starts with the same lot.
- Lot Per Balance: the lot scales with balance against a reference balance. The default is 0.01 lot per 20,000 account units. The scale is locked while a basket is open, so a drawdown never shrinks recovery lots mid-basket.
Dashboard
An animated “SuperNova” dashboard shows:
- Trading status and the reason for any pause
- News, session and Friday state
- Today’s closed profit
- Buy and sell exposure, floating P/L, spread, balance, equity and margin level
It also has Stop / Resume and Close All buttons. You can drag the panel anywhere on the chart, and it remembers its position.
Requirements
- Symbol: XAUUSD (any broker suffix)
- Account: Raw ECN swap free hedging account(Low Spread) (netting accounts are not supported)
- Recommended: a cent account with low spread, 1:2000 leverage or higher, and a VPS for 24/5 running
- Minimum: 20,000 USC (about $200) on a cent account for 0.01 lot at default settings
- Set “Round-turn commission per lot” to match your broker
Inputs
Only the essentials are exposed: Risk Management, News Filter, Trade Settings and Session. All engine settings are fixed at validated defaults.
