| Almanac Gold is a session-scheduled, multi-strategy Expert Advisor for XAUUSD on MetaTrader 5. An almanac is a table of what happens when. Almanac Gold divides the trading day into windows, and each window is watched by one of thirty strategies named after the navigational stars: Sirius, Canopus, Aldebaran, Vega, Polaris, Arcturus and the rest. Each star has its own session window, its own multi-indicator confirmation stack and its own magic number, and all thirty run from a single chart. |
HOW IT TRADES
- One cycle at a time. Only one strategy may hold an open cycle. Exposure never stacks across the thirty stars, no matter how many signals fire.
- Averaging cycle. If price moves against the entry, positions are added at a defined distance and the whole basket is closed together at a fixed target above its volume-weighted average price. Added positions use the same volume, not a multiplier. This is not a martingale.
- Lot sizing. Fixed lot, or fixed per balance (default 0.01 lot per 1,000 of balance), recalculated on every leg.
- Direction. Buy only, Sell only, or both.
PROTECTION
- Floating loss limit in percent of balance. When it is reached the basket is closed and new cycles wait out a cooldown.
- Optional daily loss limit that locks trading until the next day.
- Hard cap on orders per cycle, optional cap on total open lots, free-margin check before every leg and a margin-call guard.
- Calendar filter built in: high-impact event days, late Friday, the year-end break and Optional MQL5 economic calendar news filter on top.
- Automatic symbol detection: XAUUSD, XAUUSD+, XAUUSDm, GOLD, GOLD.i and other broker names, 2 or 3 digits.
DASHBOARD
One horizontal command center on the chart: the cycle being managed and its distance to the floating limit, account and performance, live market, open legs, all thirty strategies with running / idle state and closed results, plus Pause and Close All buttons. Chart skin included.

SETUP
1. Attach to the XAUUSD M5 chart on a hedging account.
2. Enter your broker's GMT offset (winter) and whether it uses DST. Every session window is calibrated on GMT+2 / GMT+3 servers and the EA shifts them automatically.
3. Choose the lot sizing mode and your floating loss limit.
4. Leave Start paused enabled, check the panel, then press Resume.
DISCLAIMER
1. XAUUSD and CFD trading carries high risk. Losing periods and drawdowns are part of every system, and past performance does not guarantee future results.
2. Grid averaging changes the shape of risk without removing it. A deep basket is a larger exposure than the original entry, and a sustained adverse move can cause a bigger loss than a fixed-stop system.
3. The floating loss limit, order cap and margin guard reduce stop-out probability but cannot guarantee a maximum loss across weekend gaps, news spikes or broker execution failures.
4. Choose a position size you can sustain through a difficult month, test on demo before going live, and only trade capital you can afford to lose.
So far so good, it is a grid so need to make sure the risk as dd can be big however dev already remove the strategy that caused it. Support is great. Thank you
