Prime TrendGrid Adaptive – Adaptive Trend Grid EA for Gold (MT5)
Prime TrendGrid Adaptive opens its first trade in the direction of the long-term trend, then manages the position with an adaptive grid. The grid step widens as the grid deepens, and deeper orders are added only when RSI confirms an overextended move. The basket is closed with a profit trailing stop measured in account currency.
Recommended: XAUUSD, M5 timeframe.
Risk disclosure
This EA uses grid and lot-multiplication (martingale-type) techniques. Each added order is larger than the previous one (default × 1.5). A long one-directional move can cause a large loss. Built-in protection (max-loss exit, margin guard and a broker-side emergency stop loss) limits that loss but cannot remove it. Test on a demo account first and use a deposit that suits your settings.
How it works
1. First order: trend direction
- When no orders are open, the EA trades in the direction of EMA 200 on the chart timeframe: buy above the EMA, sell below it.
2. Adaptive grid
- If price moves against the position, an order is added in the same direction.
- The step adapts to the depth of the grid:
- Orders 2–3: base step (default 700 points)
- Orders 4–6: 2 × base step
- Orders 7 and above: 4 × base step
- RSI confirmation from order 3: buy orders are added only when RSI is below 30, sell orders only when RSI is above 70. This avoids adding orders while a strong move is still running.
- No more than one added order per bar.
- Each added order is the previous lot × the multiplier (default 1.5), up to the maximum number of orders (default 12).
3. Profit trailing
- One order open: trailing starts at 0.8 profit and closes on a 0.3 pullback from the peak, or at 5.0 profit.
- Two or more orders: trailing starts at 2.0 and closes on a 0.5 pullback, or at 10.0 profit.
- Values are in account currency and can be changed.
4. Protection
- Max-loss exit: closes the basket when its floating loss reaches a set % of balance (default 30%).
- Emergency stop loss: a broker-side stop is sent with every order. In auto mode it sits beyond the full depth of the grid, so it does not affect normal trading. It protects against a move larger than the grid and against price gaps.
- Margin guard: no added orders that would push the margin level below the limit (default 100%).
- No orders are sent while the market is closed.
Main inputs
- Trend EMA period, maximum orders
- First lot, lot multiplier, base grid step
- RSI period and levels
- Trailing for single order and basket: start, step, maximum profit
- Magic number, order comment
- Max-loss %, margin level %, emergency stop distance
Requirements and notes
- Symbol: XAUUSD. Timeframe: M5. EMA and RSI are calculated on the chart timeframe.
- Works on hedging and netting accounts.
- The EA manages only its own orders on the chart symbol (by magic number).
- Trailing values are in account currency. If you increase the first lot, increase them in proportion.
- Recommended: VPS, low-spread gold broker, and a deposit large enough for the grid depth and lot multiplier you use.
- Past results, including backtests, do not guarantee future performance.
