MSI-Woodie CCI Duo-Drive
Multi-Timeframe CCI Execution System for MT5
What It Is
A signal-generation and order-execution EA built on Ken Wood's CCI methodology. It computes CCI state on your chart timeframe and three other (lower or higher) timeframes simultaneously, then applies your chosen filters before executing.
The signal logic is disclosed. The buffers are documented. It does not predict price, and it does not publish performance statistics. Just transparent.
What Makes It Different
Duo-Drive Architecture
Two operating modes, selectable at configuration:
-
EVENT : One entry per signal transition. Fires on Zero Cross, Turbo Cross, or Hook arrows, then waits for the next arrow.
-
STATE : Re-enters while CCI remains on the same side of zero. Exits when it flips.
Both modes respect every filter.
Five HTF Filter Columns
Read one column across three higher timeframes (2-of-3 consensus) or a single TF:
| Column | What It Reads |
|---|---|
| STANCE | CCI side of zero with age-based strength (↑↑ confirmed, ↑ tentative) |
| TURBO SLOPE | Turbo CCI bar-to-bar direction |
| ZERO X | Last zero-cross event on that TF |
| LSMA | Price above/below LSMA baseline |
| EMA | Price above/below EMA baseline |
Neutral handling has three modes: ALLOW, BLOCK, or FOLLOW.
Dual Confidence Meters
Two independent meters, each scored 0–100:
-
TREND : Five layers × 20 points (STANCE, Turbo Slope, Zero X, LSMA, EMA)
-
REVERT : Hook (30) + Extreme ±200 (20) + Extreme ±300 (30) + Slope-vs-LSMA (10) + Slope-vs-EMA (10)
They do not sum. Both can be high during transitions. Preferrably do not trade when they are both low, step aside.
What Trader Questions It Answers
| Trader Question | How the EA Answers |
|---|---|
| Is the higher timeframe aligned with my entry? | HTF panel shows all 3 TFs across your chosen column |
| Is this a trend continuation or a reversal? | Dual meters separate trend conviction from reversion signals |
| When should I enter? | EVENT mode fires on arrows; STATE mode enters on CCI alignment |
| When should I exit? | Configurable exit signals (Zero/Turbo/Hook) or opposite state |
| How much am I risking? | Fixed lots, % balance risked, or % equity |
| Is the broker's spread eating my edge? | Live spread display with hard block threshold |
| Should I trade this session? | Session detection with colour-coded display |
| Are my positions too clustered? | Proximity filter blocks entries within minimum distance |
Position Management
-
Trailing stop with breakeven floor — SL never below entry on BUY, above entry on SELL once trail engages
-
Partial close — single or multi-stage, by points or % of TP
-
Breakeven — by points or % of TP, with optional partial close at BE
-
Entry spacing — minimum distance between same-direction entries
-
Position limits — separate caps for BUY and SELL
-
No-money cooldown — 10-second pause on insufficient-funds errors
Visual Feedback
-
MTF panel with five configurable columns
-
Confidence meters with battery-fill bars
-
Visual trail lines (colour, style, width configurable)
-
Trade status line: TRADE ALLOWED / TRADE BLOCKED / TRADE CLOSED with reason
-
Session, spread, and next-candle timer
-
Zones showing proximity blocks
Ease of Use
Three inputs matter most:
-
DriveMode — EVENT or STATE
-
HTFColumn — which of the five columns to filter on
-
UseTrailingStop + TrailingStopPoints — your exit management
Everything else has working defaults. The panel tells you what's happening and why trades are blocked.
Self-contained. The Woodie CCI MTF indicator is embedded at no extra cost. No external files to install.
Works in Strategy Tester. Same logic live and in backtest.
Versatility
| Use Case | Configuration |
|---|---|
| Trend following | DriveMode=STATE, HTFColumn=STANCE, NeutralMode=BLOCK |
| Reversal hunting | DriveMode=EVENT, UseHookEntry=true, watch REVERT meter |
| Single-TF focused | HTFSource=SINGLE, HTFSingleTF=H1 |
| No HTF filter | UseHTFDirectionalFilter=false |
| Conservative | FixedLots, MaxBuy=1, MaxSell=1, HTF+spread filters on |
| Aggressive | STATE mode, MaxBuy=4, MaxSell=4, trailing after BE |
What It Does Not Do
-
No martingale, no grid, no lot escalation after losses
-
No hidden buffers or undisclosed logic
-
No performance claims — test it yourself on your instrument, broker environment and timeframe
