Trading Reporter — Visual Performance Dashboard for MT5
A complete account performance dashboard rendered directly on your MT5 chart. No browser, no external tool, no subscription. Attach it once and resize it to fit your screen. Balance and Live Drawdown update every second, and closed-trade statistics refresh within about a second of a position closing, so there is no waiting for the next bar whatever timeframe the chart runs on.

OVERVIEW
The dashboard is divided into six visual zones that together give you a full picture of your account, at a glance and always up to date.
The header carries balance, return percentage, broker, account number and the time of the last update. Below it sit seven KPI cards: Net P&L, Win Rate, Profit Factor, Max Drawdown with both a closed-trade and a live floating value, trade count split into wins and losses, average R:R and expectancy. Each card is colour-coded green, yellow or red according to performance thresholds, so a weak figure stands out without reading a single number.
Chart Slot A occupies the upper left at 65 percent width and holds your configurable primary chart. You choose one of three: an Equity Curve showing the running account balance per closed trade, a Cumulative P/L curve that is deposit-neutral and starts from zero, or a Rolling Win Rate that plots the win percentage across a sliding window of the last N trades.
The Win / Loss panel in the upper right is a donut chart with the live win rate as its centre label. Its legend adds win and loss counts, average win, average loss, best streak, average hold time and the Sharpe ratio.
Chart Slot B in the lower left holds the configurable secondary chart, again one of several. Drawdown Percent draws an underwater equity curve with zero percent at the top and maximum drawdown at the bottom, and Drawdown Absolute shows the same picture in account currency. Trade Frequency plots trades per calendar day as a bar chart. P/L Distribution is a histogram of trade outcomes, scaled to your typical trade range for maximum readability. Weekly Heartbeat renders weekly net P&L as bars centred on zero, green above and red below, with the best and worst week labelled. Daily P&L [NEW in v2.46] gives one bar per trading day around a centred zero line, together with day count, the winning and losing day split and the day win rate. Only days that actually traded get a bar, so idle weekends never stretch the chart.
The Monthly P&L bars cover a full rolling twelve months [NEW in v2.45]. The twelve most recent calendar months appear as green and red bars with value labels and dynamic month names, auto-capped so that extreme months never crush the others. The monthly view runs on its own history scan and is no longer limited by InpHistoryDays, which means you can keep your KPIs and curves on a 90-day window and still see a full trading year of monthly results.
The symbol table closes the layout, sorted by absolute P&L and listing symbol, net P&L, trade count, win rate percentage and a scaled bar. It fits as many rows as the panel height allows.
FEATURES
Split-commission broker support
Some brokers book entry commission on the entry deal rather than on the exit. On such accounts an exit-only calculation silently loses part or all of the commission. Trading Reporter fetches both sides through a single O(n) pre-pass, without per-trade API calls and without any slowdown on large accounts.
Exact P&L accuracy
Net P&L matches the MT5 account history to the cent. Entry commissions on partial closes are counted exactly once per position, not once per closing deal and not again when the remainder of the position closes in a later update cycle. Broker credit and bonus amounts are excluded, and breakeven trades are fully included. The result is identical to what MT5 reports in the History tab, and InpDiagnostic lets you verify it yourself in the Experts log.
Disk cache and incremental updates
On first load the full history is processed and saved to disk. After that only new deals since the last run are appended. An MT5 restart or a chart switch loads instantly from the cache. Old cache files left over from previous history window settings are cleaned up automatically on startup.
Handles accounts with 47 000 trades and more
Designed and tested on real accounts holding tens of thousands of closed positions. No freezing, no timeout.
Withdrawal-aware drawdown
Account withdrawals reset the equity peak, so they are never counted as trading drawdown. Broker credit and bonus amounts are excluded entirely and only real deposits count. The result reflects actual trading risk rather than funding decisions.
Live floating drawdown
Closed-trade drawdown misses the underwater periods of open positions, which is critical for hedge, grid and martingale strategies. The Max Drawdown card therefore shows two values: the classic closed-trade drawdown on top and a live floating drawdown below it, measured every second from ACCOUNT_EQUITY. It captures the lowest point your equity reaches, whether that happens at three in the morning, at midday or during a news spike. The drawdown charts in Slot B also show closed maximum and live maximum side by side, so floating drawdown events are visible even before any trade closes.
Attaching the indicator while positions are already deeply underwater now reports the real figure straight away [NEW in v2.46]. The reference peak is seeded from account balance, which is realised money and therefore a level the equity provably reached. Deposits and withdrawals shift that reference by their own amount instead of registering as drawdown or as recovery. The live drawdown persists across MT5 restarts, indicator reloads and VPS reboots through per-account storage, and can be reset on demand via InpResetFloatingDD.
Bonus and credit account support
On accounts where broker credit or a deposit bonus makes equity significantly larger than balance, balance-based percentages distort the picture. Enable InpUseEquityForStats to switch return percentage and drawdown percentage to an equity-based denominator that includes the credit or bonus capital. A drawdown of 100 USD on a 10 000 USD equity account made up of 1 000 USD balance and 9 000 USD bonus then shows as one percent instead of ten. Absolute figures in account currency stay unchanged.
Magic number filter
Isolate the performance of a single EA by entering its magic number, or set the filter to -1 for all trades combined. When a magic number is active, the equity baseline is calculated from that EA's trades only, so return percentage and drawdown reflect that EA's true performance instead of the whole account. The Monthly P&L bars honour the same filter.
Drag and resize
Grab any edge or corner to resize the panel and drag the title bar to reposition it. All font sizes, chart proportions and label offsets scale dynamically with the panel size.
PARAMETERS
Every input ships with a working default, so the indicator is usable the moment it is attached. In practice only the history window and, if you run several EAs, the magic filter are worth touching.
History and filtering. InpHistoryDays sets how many days of trade history are analysed for KPIs, curves and the symbol table, defaulting to 90 days with a maximum of 9999 for all-time; the Monthly P&L bars always cover the last twelve calendar months regardless of this setting. InpMagicFilter restricts everything to a single EA, with -1 meaning all trades. InpIncludeSwap and InpIncludeComm decide whether swap and commission, entry as well as exit, are included in all P&L calculations, both enabled by default. InpUseEquityForStats switches return and drawdown percentages to an equity-based denominator that includes credit and bonus capital, which is what bonus accounts need; it is disabled by default.
Chart selection. InpChartA picks the primary chart from EQUITY_CURVE, PNL_CURVE and ROLLING_WIN_RATE. InpChartB picks the secondary chart from DRAWDOWN_PCT, DRAWDOWN_ABS, TRADE_FREQ, PNL_DIST, HEARTBEAT and DAILY_PNL. InpRollingWRPeriod sets the trade window used by the rolling win rate in Slot A only, defaulting to 50 trades, and does not affect the Win / Loss donut.
Display and geometry. InpPanelWidth and InpPanelHeight define the initial panel size, defaulting to 1300 by 700 pixels, while InpPanelX and InpPanelY place it on the chart at 0 and 30 by default. InpFontName selects the font for all labels, Consolas by default, and InpBgColor sets the panel background, by default C'80,80,80'. InpShowGrid draws grid lines on the charts and is enabled by default. InpRefreshBars redraws the panel every N new chart bars, defaulting to 1, and closed trades additionally trigger a refresh within about a second. InpHideTradeArrows hides the MT5 trade history arrows so they do not overlap the panel; it is enabled by default and the original setting is restored when the indicator is removed.
Maintenance. InpResetFloatingDD clears the stored live floating drawdown on the next start and should be set back to false afterwards. InpDiagnostic prints a full P&L breakdown to the MT5 Experts log once on attach, which is the quickest way to verify accuracy against your MT5 history. Both default to false.
INSTALLATION
Copy TradingReporter.mq5 to your MT5 Indicators folder and compile it in MetaEditor with F7. Attach it to any chart, on any symbol and any timeframe. Set InpHistoryDays to the window you want to analyse and, if you are tracking one specific EA, enter its magic number in InpMagicFilter. Finally drag and resize the panel to fit your screen layout. Everything else can stay on its default.
No WebRequest permission is required and no external connections are made. The indicator runs entirely within MT5. It is an indicator, not an Expert Advisor, and it does not place or modify trades.
COMPATIBILITY
MetaTrader 5 only, not compatible with MT4. It works with all brokers and all account types including Standard, ECN, Hedge and Netting, and with all instruments including Forex, Gold, indices, crypto and commodities. It is optimised for continuous VPS operation and has been tested on accounts holding anything from a single closed trade to more than 47 000.
