EA Health Monitor MT4

EA Health Monitor MT4 is a free indicator for MetaTrader 4 that shows how each Expert Advisor on your account is doing. It groups the account history by magic number. Every EA gets its own row. Manual trades have a row of their own, and a total sits at the bottom.

It only reads the account history and open positions. It never opens, changes or closes a trade.

Standalone: Everything is built in. You do not need to buy or install any other product named on this page.

MetaTrader 4 edition: the same statistics, panel and inputs as the MetaTrader 5 version. MetaTrader 4 keeps orders, not deals: each order is read as its opening and closing deal, and the parts of a partly closed order are one trade. Like any MetaTrader 4 program, it sees the trades loaded in the Account History tab, so choose All History there (right-click the tab).

Quick start

  1. Attach EA Health Monitor to any chart from the Navigator, under Indicators.
  2. Optional: fill in Names (magic=name, comma separated) so each row shows your EA's name.
  3. Read one row per EA. Hover a row to see the tooltip with wins, losses and expectancy.
  4. To see older trades, right-click the Account History tab of the terminal and choose All History.

For each EA

  • Closed trades, and the net result (profit + swap + commission + fee).
  • Win rate and profit factor.
  • Max drawdown: the largest fall of the EA's realized result from its high.
  • Today's result.
  • Open positions and their floating profit or loss.
  • Time of its latest deal.
  • Tooltip: trades won and lost, gross profit and loss, expectancy per trade.

Counted correctly

  • A trade belongs to the EA that opened it. If you close an EA's trade by hand, the result still counts for that EA, not for "Manual".
  • Partial closes are one trade. It is counted when the position is fully closed.
  • Commissions are included. MetaTrader 4 books them when a trade closes, so the floating result of an open trade includes its commission.
  • Names: give your EAs names (magic=name). Otherwise the comment of the EA's first trade is shown.

Good to know

  • It works on any MetaTrader 4 account, on the trades in the Account History tab. To see older trades, choose All History there.
  • Attach it to any chart. One copy per terminal is enough.

How it was checked

  • Code check: a test EA traded in the MetaTrader 4 Strategy Tester. It made 10,402 trading operations: three magic numbers, manual trades, partial closes, close-by and stop-loss closes. At 146 moments, every row was compared with an independent Python calculation from the raw orders: trades, wins, losses, net, profit factor, drawdown, today, open trades and floating. All matched.
