Application Overview
Auto SL & TP for Manual Trades is a simple and practical Expert Advisor for the MetaTrader 5 platform that automatically applies Stop Loss and Take Profit levels to manually opened trades as well as pending orders.
The EA is designed primarily for traders who execute trades manually but want the assurance that every position is immediately protected with predefined Stop Loss and Take Profit levels.
The Expert Advisor works in points and can be configured to operate only on the current chart symbol.
Once attached to a chart, the Expert Advisor continuously monitors all open positions and pending orders.
If it detects a trade without a Stop Loss or Take Profit, it automatically applies the predefined values according to the user's settings.
For BUY positions, it sets:
- Stop Loss below the entry price
- Take Profit above the entry price
For SELL positions, it sets:
- Stop Loss above the entry price
- Take Profit below the entry price
The same logic is applied to pending orders, including:
- Buy Limit
- Buy Stop
- Sell Limit
- Sell Stop
- Attach the Expert Advisor to a MetaTrader 5 chart.
- Configure the desired Stop Loss and Take Profit values in points.
- Open a manual trade or place a pending order.
- The EA automatically checks the position or order.
- If no Stop Loss or Take Profit is assigned, the EA immediately applies them.
- If the trade already has both SL and TP, the EA leaves it unchanged.
The Expert Advisor does not open trades automatically. Its only purpose is to manage protective Stop Loss and Take Profit levels.
