Prop Firm Risk Protector
Protect the account. Enforce the rules. Trade with control.
Prop Firm Risk Protector is an account-level risk and compliance utility for MetaTrader 5. It monitors the whole trading account from one chart and never opens a trade.
Use it alongside manual trading, trade copiers, signal trading, trade managers or other Expert Advisors. The EA tracks daily loss, overall drawdown, profit-target progress, current and projected margin utilization, stop-loss exposure, pending-order risk and common challenge requirements. When risk approaches a configured critical level, it can notify the trader or execute a selected protection action.
The product is designed for evaluation accounts, verification phases, funded accounts and personal accounts where disciplined exposure control matters.
One dashboard for account risk and compliance
The clear two-panel dashboard separates account protection from exposure and compliance information.
The account panel shows:
- Daily loss-limit consumption and actual daily drawdown.
- Money remaining before the daily equity floor.
- Overall loss-limit consumption and actual overall drawdown.
- Money remaining before the overall equity floor.
- Profit-target progress, current profit and amount remaining.
- Balance, equity and floating profit or loss.
- Current and projected margin utilization.
- A protected two-click Close All control.
The Exposure and Compliance panel shows:
- Open positions and pending orders.
- Estimated open risk to stop loss.
- Trading days compared with required days.
- Positions without a stop loss.
- Pending-order guard status.
- Largest pending-order risk compared with the active maximum.
- Combined open and pending portfolio risk.
- Margin utilization now, after pending activation and at the configured maximum.
- Daily and overall equity floors.
- Consistency and elapsed-calendar-day information.
- Active close and delete scope.
- Blocked pending-order count.
- Whether new pending exposure is allowed.
Green, amber and red states are always paired with readable text, making the dashboard understandable without relying on color alone.
Daily and overall drawdown protection
Daily protection uses a configurable MetaTrader server reset time and a selectable day-start reference. Overall protection supports several rule models:
- Static drawdown below the initial challenge balance.
- Peak-equity trailing drawdown using a fixed loss amount.
- Trailing drawdown from the higher of peak balance or peak equity.
- Percentage-based trailing drawdown from peak equity.
The dashboard distinguishes actual drawdown from loss-limit consumption. For example, a 2 percent loss on an account with a 10 percent maximum-loss allowance means 20 percent of the available loss allowance has been consumed.
Phase 1, Phase 2 and Funded or Live modes
Select the current account phase directly in the inputs:
- Phase 1 uses the Phase 1 target and evaluation risk settings.
- Phase 2 uses the Phase 2 target and evaluation risk settings.
- Funded or Live removes the challenge target and uses separately configured live risk, margin and safety-buffer limits.
Custom rules, generic templates and named starter templates are included. Templates provide a convenient starting point, while every setting remains visible and configurable for the exact program and phase.
Prop-firm rules can vary between programs and may change. The current written terms and official account dashboard for the exact account remain the authority.
Pending-order risk and margin guard
When pending-order enforcement is enabled, the EA reviews pending orders inside the selected management scope.
It can request deletion when a pending order:
- Has no stop loss when missing-stop deletion is enabled.
- Risks more than the maximum allowed for one pending trade.
- Would make projected margin utilization reach the active cap.
- Would push total open and pending stop-loss risk beyond the portfolio cap.
- Exceeds configured position, pending-order or daily-entry capacity.
- Is placed during an active daily lock, loss-streak lockout or post-loss cooldown.
- Is placed after the challenge target is reached when target lockout is enabled.
Risk from pending entry to stop loss is estimated from the symbol contract specification. Projected margin begins with margin already used by open positions and adds the estimated margin required if accepted pending orders activate. Older acceptable pending orders reserve capacity before newer orders.
If current margin utilization reaches the configured maximum, new pending exposure is blocked and pending orders inside the selected scope are marked for deletion. The dashboard displays Margin Now, Next and Max values, warns near the cap and highlights a breach in red.
MetaTrader does not allow one EA to intercept another EA's order request before it reaches the broker. Prop Firm Risk Protector detects a prohibited pending order after it appears and immediately requests deletion. Terminal uptime, Algo Trading permission and broker acceptance are therefore required.
Portfolio and discipline controls
Optional controls include:
- Maximum total stop-loss risk across open positions and pending orders.
- Maximum open-position count.
- Maximum pending-order count.
- Maximum entries opened per MetaTrader server day.
- Maximum consecutive closed losses.
- Configurable cooldown after the latest closed loss.
- Pending-order lockout after the challenge target is reached.
- Warning for open positions without a stop loss.
- Local CSV record of every rejected pending order and its calculated reason.
Alerts wherever they are needed
Choose one or more notification channels:
- MetaTrader terminal alert.
- MetaTrader mobile push notification.
- Email through MetaTrader's configured mail service.
- Telegram bot notification.
Three configurable warning levels are available for daily and overall loss-limit consumption. Profit-target notifications can be sent at two progress levels and at target achievement. Separate messages cover margin warnings and breaches, positions without stop loss, rejected pending orders, failed deletion attempts, emergency actions and manual dashboard flattening.
Emergency account protection
At a configurable safety distance before a daily or overall loss breach, the EA can:
- Alert only.
- Close the worst losing position.
- Close all positions inside the selected scope.
- Delete pending orders and close all positions inside the selected scope.
An optional daily lock can continue removing matching exposure while the EA remains online. The dashboard Close All button requires two clicks within five seconds to reduce accidental activation.
Flexible management scope
Choose what the EA is permitted to close or delete:
- The complete trading account.
- Positions and orders using one Magic Number.
- One chart symbol combined with one Magic Number.
Account-wide scope provides the broadest protection. Strategy-specific scopes can supervise one system while intentionally leaving other account exposure untouched.
Restart-safe challenge tracking
Challenge start balance, start time, day-start references, high-water marks, warning states and emergency lock state are stored locally. A user-defined State ID keeps one challenge or phase separate from another.
A new State ID can be used for a new challenge, Phase 2 or a funded account so previous phase history does not carry forward unintentionally.
Designed for clear, controlled operation
- One EA instance monitors the account from one chart.
- The dashboard refresh interval is configurable.
- The minimum 780-pixel layout gives the compliance panel space for full risk and margin values.
- Automatic actions use the selected account, Magic Number or symbol scope.
- Every pending-order rejection can be recorded with its reason and calculated limits.
- The EA never generates entries or trading signals.
Important operating requirements
- MetaTrader, the computer or VPS and the EA must remain online for continuous monitoring.
- Algo Trading must be enabled for pending-order deletion or position closure.
- The broker must accept each close or delete request.
- Market hours, valid quotes and available liquidity affect position closure.
- Notification channels must be configured and tested in MetaTrader.
- One EA instance should be attached per trading account.
- All limits must be checked against the current rules for the exact account.
What the EA does not do
- It does not open market or pending trades.
- It does not provide entry signals or trading advice.
- It does not calculate lot size before entry.
- It does not manage break-even, trailing stops or partial closes.
- It cannot switch off another Expert Advisor.
- It cannot operate while MetaTrader or the hosting computer is offline.
- It cannot guarantee broker execution, prevent slippage or eliminate trading loss.
- It cannot guarantee that a prop firm will not record a violation.
