A clean diagnostic snapshot can be correct when it is created and still become outdated later.
The terminal may be connected. Algo Trading may be enabled. Quotes may be fresh and the spread may be normal. After the check, however, the connection can drop, a chart can change, a quote can become stale or the spread can expand.
One completed check is not continuous monitoring.
Ninja MT5 Doctor Pro combines the detailed diagnosis of the free Ninja MT5 Doctor with timer-driven monitoring, event history, Magic Number activity, notifications and local reports.
The Difference from the Free Doctor
The free Ninja MT5 Doctor remains useful for a detailed one-time diagnosis. It creates a completed snapshot when it starts or when RUN AGAIN is used.
Doctor Pro includes that detailed diagnostic workflow and continues checking important MT5-side conditions after the snapshot has been created. It is designed for users who need to know not only what the environment showed at one moment, but also what changed later while MT5 remained running.
Install It on a Separate Chart
MetaTrader 5 allows only one Expert Advisor on each chart. Keep every target EA on its original chart and attach Doctor Pro to another normal chart with no other EA attached.
- Use one Doctor Pro instance for the same terminal and account.
- Do not replace the EA you want to observe.
- Confirm the settings and notifications on a demo account first.
Doctor Pro runs in Expert Advisor format, but it is not a trading EA and it is not an indicator. It does not send, modify or close orders, delete pending orders or stop another EA.
FULL CHECK, SCAN NOW and SAVE REPORT
These three operations have different roles.
FULL CHECK
FULL CHECK creates the detailed diagnostic snapshot. It reviews areas such as connection, terminal and account permissions, open charts, accessible attached-EA names, trade mode, sessions, quote freshness, spread, selected-timeframe synchronization, bar counts, volume rules, reference margin, execution and filling modes, order mode, Stops Level, Freeze Level and broker-published symbol properties.
Six timeframes are selected by default, and up to 21 standard MT5 periods can be selected.
SCAN NOW
SCAN NOW runs the next timer-driven monitoring cycle immediately. It is useful after reconnecting MT5, changing Algo Trading, opening or closing a chart, or correcting a condition that caused a warning.
SCAN NOW does not replace FULL CHECK.
SAVE REPORT
SAVE REPORT writes HTML and CSV files under MQL5/Files/NINJA_MT5_Doctor_Pro/ . The report can include the current monitoring state and the latest FULL CHECK result.
Eight Tabs, One Monitoring Workflow
- OVERVIEW: current terminal, account, chart, quote and spread status.
- SNAPSHOT: the latest completed FULL CHECK result.
- HISTORY: synchronization and bar-count information for selected periods.
- CHARTS: open chart inventory and accessible attached-EA names.
- SPECS: broker-published symbol properties.
- ACTIVITY: visible account activity by Magic Number.
- EVENTS: confirmed WARNING, BLOCKED and RECOVERY changes.
- REPORTS: manual, daily and weekly local reports and event history.
Why RECOVERY Matters
Doctor Pro records confirmed state changes rather than adding the same unchanged warning during every cycle.
WARNING identifies a condition that needs review. BLOCKED identifies a clearer environmental blocker within the implemented checks. RECOVERY records that a previously confirmed issue is no longer present.
This makes the history easier to interpret. It can show when a problem appeared and when it cleared.
Magic Number Activity
The ACTIVITY tab can show the latest deal, deal counts for today, 7 days and 30 days, open positions, pending orders and volume for automatically discovered or specified Magic Numbers.
This is operational account information. It does not inspect another EA's private logic.
An EA name shown in CHARTS and a Magic Number shown in ACTIVITY are separate pieces of information. A visible EA name confirms only that the name was accessible on that chart. It does not reveal the EA's Magic Number, entry condition, internal variables or private state.
Notifications, Heartbeat and Local Reports
Inputs can enable popup, push, sound, recovery, informational-change and heartbeat notifications. MT5 push notification requires the normal MetaQuotes ID setup inside the terminal.
Heartbeat can provide periodic confirmation while Doctor Pro and MT5 are running. It cannot solve an important boundary: if MT5 or the VPS is fully stopped, that stopped terminal cannot send its own alert.
Doctor Pro supports manual, daily and weekly reports plus persistent event history. The account login number is excluded, and Doctor Pro does not upload the reports. It does not use DLLs, WebRequest, external licensing, external data or email.
What HEALTHY Means - and What It Does Not Mean
HEALTHY means that Doctor Pro did not find a current blocker within its implemented monitoring scope.
HEALTHY does not prove that:
- another EA has a valid entry condition;
- another EA's private logic is correct;
- the EA is fully compatible with the broker;
- the strategy will trade or be profitable;
- notifications will continue after MT5 stops.
Doctor Pro cannot read another EA's private source code, hidden filters, internal exception state or proprietary permissions. It also cannot reconstruct every event that occurred while MT5 was completely stopped.
Doctor Pro and Portfolio Guard Have Different Roles
Ninja MT5 Doctor Pro continuously observes the MT5 environment and visible operational information. It remains completely read-only.
Ninja EA Portfolio Guard MT5 monitors account-wide exposure and configured risk limits. When the user enables the relevant functions, Portfolio Guard can send account-wide close or pending-order deletion requests.
Doctor Pro does not provide CLOSE ALL, DELETE PENDING, LOCK ON or automatic account-risk liquidation.
A Practical First Test
- Use a demo account.
- Leave the target EAs on their original charts.
- Attach one Doctor Pro instance to a separate chart.
- Run FULL CHECK and review all eight tabs.
- Save the initial report.
- Make one temporary environmental change.
- Use SCAN NOW and confirm the expected event.
- Restore the setting and confirm that RECOVERY is recorded.
This sequence makes the difference between a detailed snapshot and continuous monitoring easy to understand.
