H1 CRT Best Setups Scanner — User Guide
What It Is
A manual, on-demand MT5 scanner that finds H1 Candle Range Theory (CRT) formations, then drops to M5 to locate a Fair Value Gap (FVG) entry. It does not trade for you, does not run in the background, and only scans when you click the button. Every setup is ranked 1–5 stars by confluence and sorted best-first.
The Concept
A CRT is a three-candle model. Candle 1 defines a momentum range with small wicks. Candle 2 sweeps beyond that range (grabbing liquidity) but closes back inside — that close is the signal. Price then targets Candle 1's opposite extreme.
A bullish CRT (Candle 2 sweeps below, closes back inside) gives a BUY targeting Candle 1's high. A bearish CRT (Candle 2 sweeps above, closes back inside) gives a SELL targeting Candle 1's low.
Once the H1 CRT confirms, the scanner waits on M5 for the first FVG in the trade's direction. Entry is the FVG's 50% level. Stop loss sits beyond the FVG's originating candle. Take profit is Candle 1's opposite extreme. A 50% partial exit at 1:1 R:R is marked on the chart.
Star Rating
Stars combine zone confluence (swing, order block, FVG at Candle 1 — up to 3 points), Candle 1 momentum versus ATR (up to 2), H1 trend alignment (up to 3), M5 CHoCH (1), M5 order block overlap (1), and R:R of 3.0+ (1). Eleven points maximum maps to 1–5 stars.
How to Use
Load the indicator on any chart. Click "SCAN H1 CRT (Manual)" after a key session open. Check the Experts tab for diagnostics. Review Panel 1 for valid H1 formations and Panel 2 for confirmed M5 signals. Click any Panel 2 row to open that symbol's M5 chart with the FVG box, SL box, TP box, 1:1 partial line, CHoCH line, and OB box drawn.
Prioritize 4–5 star continuation setups with R:R of 1:3 or better. Reduce size on 3-star setups. Treat 1–2 star setups as watchlist only.
Best scan times are right after H1 closes, especially London and New York opens. Two to four scans per session is plenty.
DOs
Do scan manually after session opens. Do check the Experts log. Do prioritize 4–5 star setups. Do prefer continuation over counter-trend. Do verify the M5 chart before trading. Do use the 1:1 line for partial exits. Do respect the news panel. Do size down on lower-star setups. Do re-scan after a few H1 candles.
DON'Ts
Don't expect auto-trading or background alerts. Don't trade 1–2 star setups at full size. Don't move the stop loss tighter than marked. Don't take TP as guaranteed near major HTF levels. Don't scan during high-impact news. Don't assume every scan yields signals — zero to three is normal. Don't confuse stars with win rate; it is a confluence score, not a probability. Don't run on M1 expecting M1 signals — detection is H1, entry is M5.
DOs
DO click the scan button manually after key session opens. The scanner is designed for deliberate, on-demand use.
DO check the Experts tab log after each scan to see the full diagnostic output. It tells you how many formations were found, how many passed the valid-zone filter, and how many confirmed on M5.
DO prioritize 4–5 star setups. The scoring system exists precisely so you do not have to eyeball confluence.
DO prefer CONTINUATION over COUNTER-TREND at the same star level. The trend scoring already reflects this, but it is the single most reliable filter.
DO verify the M5 chart after clicking a signal row. Look at the FVG box, the SL box, and the TP box. Confirm the FVG is genuine, the SL makes structural sense, and the TP has room.
DO use the 50%@1:1 line as your partial-exit trigger. It is drawn on every signal chart for a reason.
DO keep your Market Watch populated with the pairs you actually trade. The scanner extends beyond the defaults using Market Watch symbols.
DO run the scanner at consistent times each day so you build a feel for which sessions produce your best setups.
DO respect the news panel. Red-folder events within 30 minutes are a hard no-trade window for most CRT setups.
DO reduce size on 3-star setups and below. The rating is a genuine quality gradient, not decoration.
DO let the scan finish before clicking again. The button is disabled during a scan, but patience avoids confusion.
DO re-scan after a few H1 candles if you want fresh setups. The previous scan's results become stale as price moves.

DON'Ts
DON'T expect the indicator to trade for you. It is a scanner and visualizer only — order execution is manual.
DON'T leave it running expecting automatic alerts on new formations. Alerts only fire during a scan, not continuously. The timer only refreshes news and redraws.
DON'T trade 1–2 star setups with full size. They passed the minimum filters, but they lack confluence — treat them as speculative.
DON'T ignore the HTF RATING in Panel 1. A formation that never confirms on M5 is still useful information — it tells you the H1 bias is there but the LTF has not given an entry yet. You can watch those manually.
DON'T trade counter-trend setups against a strong H1 EMA50 slope unless the star rating is 4–5 and you have a clear structural reason.
DON'T assume the SL is a tight stop. It sits beyond the FVG's originating candle — sometimes that is 10 pips, sometimes 40. Position-size accordingly.
DON'T move the SL tighter than the marked level. The FVG's originating candle is the structural invalidation — tightening it defeats the setup's logic.
DON'T take the TP as gospel if price is approaching a major HTF level such as a daily or weekly high or low, or a round number. The TP is Candle 1's opposite extreme; it is a target, not a guarantee.
DON'T scan during high-impact news windows. The manipulation logic of CRT gets scrambled by news spikes.
DON'T run the scanner on an M1 chart expecting M1 signals. The scanner is hardcoded to H1 detection and M5 entry — HTF is PERIOD_H1 and LTF is PERIOD_M5. The chart you load it on is irrelevant.
DON'T modify the default pair list to symbols your broker does not offer. ResolveSymbol handles suffix variants, but if a symbol truly does not exist, it is silently skipped.
DON'T expect the scanner to find setups on every symbol every scan. A clean H1 CRT with a valid zone and an M5 FVG confirmation is genuinely rare — zero to three signals per scan is normal.
DON'T overtrade the same symbol repeatedly. If a setup played out or invalidated, it is gone. The IsCRTStillActive check ensures played-out formations are skipped, but your own discipline matters too.
DON'T confuse the star rating with a probability. It is a confluence score, not a win-rate estimate. Five stars means "most boxes ticked," not "90% win rate."
DON'T delete the indicator's objects manually while a scan is running. The scan cleans up its own objects at the start of each run.
DON'T rely solely on push notifications. They are subject to the cooldown (InpNotifyCooldownSec), so multiple signals in quick succession may only produce one alert.

Understanding the Signal Lifecycle
Here is exactly what happens from scan click to signal row.
CollectSymbols rebuilds the symbol list — defaults first, then Market Watch. DetectCRT then runs for each symbol, scanning H1 bars 1–35 for a C1/C2 pair that passes the following gates: Candle 1 body ratio at least 0.35, Candle 1 wicks each no more than 0.25 of range, Candle 1 momentum at least 1.0x ATR(14), Candle 2 wick beyond Candle 1 by at least 0.15 of Candle 1's range, Candle 2 closing back inside Candle 1's range, and the formation still being active (no close beyond Candle 1's opposite extreme or Candle 2's sweep extreme).
IsCRTAtValidZone then checks whether Candle 1 sits near a swing extreme, order block, or unmitigated FVG within InpZoneATRMult times ATR. It returns the match count from 0 to 3.
TrendBias computes the EMA(50) slope over 10 bars plus price position, returning 1 for up, -1 for down, or 0 for flat.
The HTF star score is computed, and a Panel 1 entry is added.
CheckM5Entry drops to M5 and scans chronologically forward from Candle 2's close for the first FVG in the trade direction.
The full star score is computed from HTF plus CHoCH plus OB plus R:R, and a Panel 2 entry is added.
An alert is queued, subject to the cooldown, if InpEnableAlerts is true.
Panel 2 is ranked by stars then R:R.
The dashboard is redrawn.
If any step fails, the symbol is silently skipped (or logged, if verbose). That is why a scan of 80 symbols might yield zero Panel 2 rows — every filter is deliberately strict.

Common Questions
Why did my scan find 12 formations but 0 Signal Ready rows? The H1 CRT formations exist, but none have produced a qualifying M5 FVG yet. Either price has not created the gap, or it has not created one in the trade's direction. Re-scan later.
Why is a symbol I know had a setup not showing? Most likely IsCRTStillActive disqualified it — price already closed beyond Candle 1's opposite extreme (played out) or beyond Candle 2's sweep extreme (invalidated). The scanner only shows live setups.
Can I change the entry from FVG 50% to something else? Not without modifying the code. The entry line is set to the midpoint of the FVG top and bottom. The spec is fixed at 50%.
Can I change the TP from Candle 1's opposite extreme? Not without modifying the code. The TP line is set to Candle 1's high for longs and Candle 1's low for shorts. The spec is fixed.
Why does the dashboard show fewer than 8 rows sometimes? InpTopSignalsShown is a cap, not a target. If only 3 signals confirmed, only 3 rows show.
The button is not responding — why? A scan is likely in progress. Wait for the "SCAN COMPLETED" log line, then click again.
Can I run this on multiple charts at once? Yes, but each instance scans independently and will fight for the same global object names. Best practice is one instance, one chart.
What does CONT versus CTR mean in Panel 2? CONT is trend continuation — trade direction matches the H1 EMA50 bias. CTR is counter-trend — trade direction opposes the H1 bias.
How do I reset the alerted-keys memory? Reload the indicator. The alerted-keys array is cleared on init.
Key Settings
InpMaxSymbols (default 80) caps the scan list. InpCRTLookback (35) sets how far back to search. InpMinBodyRatio (0.35), InpMomentumATRMult (1.0), and InpMinWickRatio (0.15) control strictness. InpTopSignalsShown (8) sets Panel 2 rows. InpEnableAlerts and InpPushNotify toggle notifications. InpShowNewsPanel toggles the news filter.
Final Note
This is a precision tool, not a signal generator. Most scans yield few or no setups — that is by design. The star rating exists so you can rank objectively and size risk accordingly. Scan deliberately, trade selectively, and always verify the M5 chart before pulling the trigger.
